ebay lip spoiler color matching COMPLETELY OFF!!!
yo guys, i bought the lip spoiler from a seller called "delsamotorsports"
it was around 70 shipped, and the listing was for a color matched m3 style lip spoiler.
the color code was NH-643, which was anthracite.
when i got it, the color was more like alabaster silver! It was not even close. I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone, and how much did it cost for a shop to color match it correctly? I called a lot of places and it seems like they are all charging 120-200 bucks just to paint it!

hahah nice dude.
i have a 2nd gen tl and i got mine from them as well. My color was matched perfectly though. I would say email them back, because i got decent customer service from them because they took forever.
yep.
pretty ridiculous though, 70 bucks for a lip spoiler.

#1: I wish you had searched on this but we kinda red-flagged delsa over here on acurazine. They have a bad rep here screwing some people over.
#2: If the spoiler dosen't match it isn't your fault, it is THEIR fault. I had the same problem when I bought my ebay spoiler from a different vendor. When I got my spoiler I was hasty and installed it in my dark garage. I didn't notice the paint mismatch till I pulled the car out in the sun. It wasn't off by much but enough to notice. It had a more green/gray color and the car was more a silver/blue. I complained to the company. The apologized and said they used the paint code. They were intent to make me happy though, they knew I was upset and I wouldn't let off them. They actually WENT to a local Acura dealer and physically matched an anthracite TL on the lot and used that color. They shipped me a new spoiler and let me keep the old one. (shipping my used one back would be inefficient for both of us) The new spoiler was not a perfect match, about 98% exact.
Anthracite is a very hard color to match. I can't blame them too much because Acura itself can't get it right. My A-Spec bodykit is way off from my car color.........and that was painted by Acura! I had bodywork done by a bodyshop last summer and they messed up too. (I warned them that they would) I had them redo it and blend in. It is 98% good now. (yeah I'm a perfectionist.)
Anthracite is a beautiful color but these are the headaches you have to deal with.

yeap Anthracite is so hard to match up. a while ago, when i first got the car, some jackass hit and run on the car... i took it to Yonke Collision, 36th in between College point and prince (uhh you'll probably see it easier if you just head in that direction form northern right before the on ramp towards La Guardia - they did an amazing job,
anyway, another time out here in MO, before i had my front license plate taken off, some douchebag had bumped it (again, hit and run...wtf is wrong with ppl these days) and imprinted the head of the nail behind the plate frame into my front bumper, took it to a local shop and had them SHOW me the mixture/paint code they were gonna do for a sample first...needless to say, i paid for the sample, but that shit aint on my car lol...
gonna have to wait a few more months and take it back to Yonke.

I bought one for my WDP from them as well, and the color match is way off too. I am not as lucky as JessTzn. I think for all WDP stuff, I am just going to buy OEM to ensure the quality.

Three Wheelin'
Rocky- #1- because it means it will always be a perfect fit..designed exactly for the vehicle, #2- in regards to this situation, some 3M double sided stick on lip, the OEM requires screws and hugs the trunk lip much better, and you wont have to keep checkin your rear view while doin 90 down I95 thinking " man, i hope that piece doesnt fly off " OEM=Piece of Mind.

It's really not much of a difference. If you looked at a car that has OEM vs. a replica.....you can't tell the difference. I have had my replica since the day I got my car. It looks EXACTLY like an OEM. The one that Jesstzn has posted up there is NOT an Acura TL replica. It is an M3/M5 replica that is different.
I agree the mounting is different as it dosen't screw in. But I think it's a good thing. Even if I had an OEM spoiler, I find no need to drill holes and screw it in. 3M tape sticks much better than you'd think if it is prepped properly. Try removing something if you had to. My first spoiler had to be removed because of paint mismatch.....the effort it took to take off!! Took me 10 minutes to install but 1 hr. to take off! I actually scraped my trunk in several places (1 day old car) with tools while trying to take it off. Trust me that spoiler ain't comin off easy. It's true maybe in 7 years the glue may start to get bad; big deal, just restick it! In terms of "hugging" the trunk, it is actually the tape that does that better. Remember even the A-Spec bodykit is screwed and tabbed in but it's the 3M tape that actually makes the gaps hug the bumpers.
The spoiler weighs only a couple pounds, and it's low profile, causes minimal drag. It's not flying off anywhere. I have better piece of mind knowing there are no holes in my trunk to breed leaks or rust.

i bought one from Delsamotorsports back in 2006 on ebay and forturnately for me, they did not ship my item nor reply to my numerous messages. I ended up leaving them a negative feedback and threatened to open up a dispute before they refunded my money to me. However, in doing so, they requested i remove my neg feedback to which i refused. This resulted in Delsa leaving ME A NEGATIVE feedback. Needless to say, I would love to see this company burn to the ground for their unethical business practices.

I got this from ebay. They are perfect color match. If anyone interested i let it goes for $100 shipped. This has never been install I just took it out to see how they looks. thespoilerstore is whre i got it from. They are I think the best aftermarket lip spoiler.
EDit: Sorry op, I dont mean to steal your threat, just want to let you guys know there are good ebay seller for lip spoiler too. THanks.
