Ebay Engine Mounts

I am about to order an engine mount set on Ebay, because the price seems lower and they come in a complete set of three as opposed to going to advanced auto parts. Just wanted to know if anyone has bought mounts off of ebay and are they legit?

Just remember its your engine. Quality in important parts make all the difference.I always say do your homework first.

This ^^^^^

Cheap mounts are likely to be of lower quality, which means less durability and more vibrations and possibly fitment issues.

RockAuto carries DEA brand mounts I believe, which is a more reputable aftermarket mount distributor.

Yeah good point. It's non-critical.. I'd cut corners and save here and spend more money on more crucial parts like HIDs

Lol! +1 to the last reply. The way I see it is the money you save in your own DIY labor makes up for the cost of decent parts. I prefer OEM or similar replacement like what Rock Auto carries. I would never buy auto parts on eBay. Just my 2 cents.

ebay just is a place to buy parts, just like rock auto or any other store. even if you get half or even a third of the life out of the cheap aftermarket ones vs oem, you are still coming out ahead

Did you take into account the time and effort to replace the mounts? 1/3 life means replacing mounts again... = $ for labor again.

no, because how many current owners really are going to have these 8-12 year old cars for another 5 plus years? very very few... and if you are one of the people that plans to take your TL to the grave then by all means spend the $500 on the oem mounts, otherwise its really not worth it. plus other than the rear, they really arent that hard to change yourself anyway. the passenger side (most commonly broken) takes literally like 15 mins, if that

Bought my replacement mounts on ebaY! Good quality, good prices, and a FIVE year warranty versus Acura's OEM's ONE year warranty.
Especially for the expensive front one!

Got my mounts from acuraoemparts.com since the OEM ones lasted quite a bit and the OEM ones have vaccum lines so they stiffen when you really get on the throttle. As a poster above mentioned, it's not worth the extra hours of labor to get cheaper ones and swap them out multiple times. Plus if I had to get one replaced under warranty, that'd be a headache as I'd need to remove it, show pics of the damage and wait for a new one while the car couldn't be driven.

Heard good things about the aftermarket racing mounts for the first few years, but you'll need a new set of inserts as they do wear!
