[Video] bad engine mounts???

I have a 06 tl 132k on it. I replace the front, rear and side engine mounts. The front and rear both oem and side with after market.

I still have a light vibration on park and a bit more on drive or reverse. There isn't much vibration on the steering as there is just coming from the engine bay onto the dash.

I took a video of the engine movement.

The first Rev is Park
The 2nd is drive
3rd in reverse (I felt a clunk)

Could it be a bad upper transmission mount??

Definitely bad transmission mount by the way it was moving! WAY too much play! Should be the reason for the vibration and if you're using NON-OEM mounts you're prone to get vibration as well.

Need to round out your mount replacement to include all the transmission mounts just for safe measure. If you are reving it in gear and holding the brake the motor and trans is going to load up the mounts more causing more twist as you can see.

Your aftermarket mount goes straight to the unibody "frame rails" thus transmitting more vibration to the cabin. The other stock ones are mounted to the subframe which will help isolate the vibration some.

Did you try finger tightening the mounts to engine bolts, rock motor back and forth like you did in the video and then torque the bolts to spec?

you definitely have a bad mount somewhere, that thing is moving so much!

i have a brand new oem upper transmission mount if you want a good deal on it.
i bought one because i thought i needed to replace mine but when i went to replace it, the transmission mount was fine.

so it's just sitting in my closet. send me a PM if you're interested i can send it out right away (part number 50870-SEP-A01)

Just a heads up, sockr1, that mount you purchased is only good for 04-06 TL's, so its useless to you anyways.
07-08 mount part number is 50870-SEP-A92.

no i'm right, you have your part incorrect. the part you listed is for an automatic type s. i have a manual type s which has the same upper transmission mount as all other 04-06 cars.

you can verify this by acuraoemparts.com, my part is correct and would be useful if i needed it

Oops, didn't realize your car was manual.

I really think it's because it's an auto and he's loading the motor up with the brakes applied. I mean when it revs in neutral it does move much! I would be interested to see how much the motor moves under normal driving conditions.
