Everytime I come into this thread I have a different opinion of the mod. One time I will love it, the next time I come in I start getting really critical about the latch portion that drops down. If that part wasn't there, it would be much better. I don't remember the guys that did this mod ever making that part stand out so much.

This time in the tread I really like it.

I definatly like it from a distance...I think the outer part of it should be painted body color w/ the inside and the mesh painted black

i used the stock lower grill inserts and customized them myself. i cut out the horizontal bars and put inserted mesh and then put the fog lights behind.

looks great! I also have an 04 TL 6 Speed, just got it two months back. Quick question on the 'inserted mesh' for ur lower grill; where did u get the mesh from ? what type of material is it ? and are the fog lights bolted onto the chasis or the bumper ? do you have any DIY pics.. i really would like to remove my horizontal bars and atleast put the fogs... thanks for ur help.

i got the mesh from http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/UNIVE...Q5fAccessories

the fog lights are attached to the bumper and they were a tight squeeze. also purchased on ebay.

speaking of a tampa meet, there's one in orlando on sunday the 8th. Check the meets section! Also I think if the mesh was a bit more finer, it would hide that latch better and look a whole lot better...

Just a little friendly criticism. The grille looks kinda cheesy as is. I think if you paint matched it, it would look a lot better. Also keeping the inner black mesh. The 3G TL grille area is on the large side. Being black/raw plastic makes it look bigger, too big for a open mouth style. If your car was NBP, I think it would flow better in black. My

I agree, but I think if you were to put an a-spec lip on there it might help to make the grill appear smaller. I would like to see this done on nbp. Good job on the DIY!

pics got erased. so here they are again..
REMOVE FRONT BUMPER
2. REMOVE CENTER PIECE and emblem FROM GRILL ( screws )

3. CUT OUT CENTER BAR behind emblem ( hacksaw )

4. either sand down the edges or just hacksaw it off more.

5. PUT BUMPER BACK ON

6. BY NOW YOU SHOULD HAVE REMOVED ALL THESE PARTS

7. NOW YOU NEED TO DRILL A HOLE ON EACH SIDE .( THERE ARE MARKINGS)

THESE ARE THE DRILL BITS I USED

I USED SAME CLIPS AS ORIGINAL GRILL

8. JB WELD THE BOTTOM AND YOUR DONE!!!
