Early Transmission upshift on an automatic 2007
Early Transmission upshift on an automatic 2007
I purchased an 07 TL back in 2016 at around 90K miles. I am at around 135K miles now and just recently moved from IL to MI a couple months ago and had to change my radiator because it busted and most recently changed up my timing belt.
I feel like I'm having an issue with the transmission again because recently now, when I start it and I'm on the road, the RPMs upshift too quick and my speed is not catching up (feels like my transmission is revving too hard). I would barely hit 20 MPH and my RPMs would hit 3000-4000 already. I've read other forums saying it might be a solenoid issue? I've checked for fluid leaks and ATF fluid looks good. I've also restarted the car's battery system because I thought it might be a computer system issue. Nothing seems to work. It's happened once before but only persisted for a few minutes before it resolved on itself after restarting the engine.
Is this normal? How am I able to fix this? What's the diagnosis or how can I go about troubleshooting this? Much help would be really appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

I am not to knowledgeable with these things but I would start at the basics:
I know you mentioned you restarted the battery, try resetting the ECU via the pedal method. I doubt this will help in anyway, but at least your throttle response will be neutral.
When your noticing the upshifts too quickly, what is the temperature of the engine? If you are driving cold, it could be the engine compensating depending on how much throttle you giving it.
Are your rpms hanging and then shifting into the next gear? What happens when you going 20MPH and rpms are at 3-4k?
It could be a number of things, but my guess right now, with limited info would be possibly pressure switches need to be swapped out or your tranny is dying.

The temperature of the engine remains fine, neither too hot or cold. Just closer to cold because I just turned it on.
My RPMs are not automatically shifting into the next gear while I have it in automatic mode. I have to drive it in sports mode in order for my speed to keep up with my RPMs.
While I am driving around 20 mph and around 4000 RPMs, the engine is revving loudly under the hood. The car is still traveling trying to gain acceleration.
I just checked my solenoid sensors and all seem to be functioning okay via voltmeter. Is there anything else you suggest? Thanks in advance.
I will definitely try and do a restart via pedal method. Did not even know about that, and I just found a youtube video about how to do it.

If that's the case, your issue maybe much more serious sorry to say
