Yes, I did my front doors last year. Did wonders in reducing road noise . You must remove the existing white plastic and the glue to get contact for the dynamat first. I used a golf ball to rub the dynamat in after cutting to size (one piece for each front door). Worked very well.

I am planning to dynamat all four doors, under the rear seats, rear deck, rear fender well, and firewall. I will see if I could take some pictures as I go along and do a write up.

To me I think the TL is pretty quiet to begin with, hopfully with the dynamat the car will be even more quiet (less road noise) and the sound system will sound better.

There's a thread in audio on doing the rear shelf...search for "want cleaner bass" and it's got a step by step DIY guide I think. I did under and behind my rear seat so far using the edead version of Dynamat (same thing..less expensive).

I used about 1.5 boxes in the trunk and trunk lid including some of the rear panels. .5 in the front and rear wheel wells on the car under the shrouding. 1 box on the rear seat, deck lid, and rear pillers and the verticle part of the rear foot well.

And just recently a box in the front and rear doors...

So all in all about 4 boxes (4 x 36 sq feet) of Dynamat Extreme (from ebay.. about $115 a box).

The biggest difference was the trunk lid. If you take out the back seat, the amount of wind noise is amazing... Had to fix that.

If anyone is in San Antonio you are more than welcome to go for a ride.

I just wanted to head a warning here... adding dynamat all over your car (Doors, trunk, deck, etc.. ) will VASTLY increase the weight of the vehicle.... It can also get to the point where the struts are going to wear alot faster than normal unless you have aftermarket springs and struts.... My buddy has this in his ride, with a full blown custom trunk stereo and his car actually sags a little in the back....

Dynamat is worth it's weight in Gold, just be careful with how much you actually add....

It's the stereo that added the weight causing it to sag not the dynamat.

Speaking of weight, How much weight do you think Dynamat would add to the car if you do all 4 doors and the deck lid? Also, do you think doing the roof liner would be a big impact in road noise?

No more than 15 lb at the most. Dynomat has some thin lightweight stuff that also is very good insulator.

If you use e-dead teklite from Elemental Designs you can get the same results at about 1/4 the price of Dynamat. You pay a lot for the name...same as brands like Monster Cable. Need I say more?

I dont know why Im thinking each box weighs 28 lbs...

fyi If I were to charge someone to do it it would be about $1000 worth of labor. It was alot of work. Do it in a cool place and expect to spend about a day a box... Well... Thats with taking everything apart and putting it back together. Watch to make sure you dont cover any snap holes.

Also get your self a box of Razor blades... Razors are the most useful tool I have in my car. and this job would have sucked with out it... Consider some mechinics gloves unless you have tough hands... My hand are used to pressing buttons, not being slid down sharp metal edges of dynamat.

FYI the only thing that I regret is scratching my rear seat - Seatbelt plastic click things... whatever its late. I also got that tar stuff on the belt. But wd-40 took it off. But be careful with it.

Ummm... Wouldnt do the roof... There really isnt alot of noise from that.. I was supprised too.
