DVD-A disc problem
DVD-A disc problem
I bought a couple of DVD-A at Tower and eagerly popped them in my TL when I got home. One of them, upon insertion, gave me this flashing "FORMAT" message and proceeded to be ejected from the player. The disc case clearly says it is a DVD-Audio. The other played just fine. Any thoughts?
You should indicate what the titles of the disc are and the label distributing them. With that information there is a much better chance that someone is familiar with the disc and can advise if there is a problem. You need to be careful of Silverline Music discs. They sort of indicate that they will play on DVD Audio but they are actually not recorded in DVDA. Many have tried without success to play them in the TL.
I have one disc that has several formats recorded on the disc including DTS. If I put the disc in upside down to play a different format...yes it is recorded on both sides...I get the same error message....solution...just flip it over. I don't know why it won't play the other side because it's supposed to be recorded in regular CD format, not surround, on that side but it also has other formats and maybe that's not compatable.
