DVD-A acoustics changed by sunshade

OK, all you TL audio freaks...

Next time you're listening to your favorite surround-sound DVD-A, slide your sunshade back and forth and notice the subtle change in the acoustics. Yes, it really does change the acoustics in the car, albeit slightly.

FWIW, I prefer the sound in my car better with the shade open - the high notes are a little brighter, and the mid-range is de-emphasized slightly (at least that's how it seems to me).

Enjoy!

hmmm which shade?front? rear? You said that the sound is better with the shade open so if thats the case then why should you even listen with the shades closed?.....sorry but i think this is a useless thread...just my .02 ....

Look, if you want to slide your "sunshade" back and forth in the privacy of your car, that's your business I guess, but personally I think it's pathetic.

For those of you that are clueless, I meant the sunshade for the moonroof.

Try listening to a DVD-A while sitting in the back seat. Sounds so different. They really did design the system for the driver.

Well, if you think sliding the SHADE changes the acoustics, just try sliding the glass thingy that's above the shade! That REALLY changes the sound!

Of course it changes the sound. It is like hanging/removing curtains or tapestries in a room. There will be less/more reverbaration.

One thing I've found I don't like about 5 channels is that you miss a lot of the stuff coming from the rear speakers...unless you keep turning your head around like Linda Blair in the Excorsist.
