Dupli-color paint

I went to wal-mart and bought a can of dupli-color nighthawk black pearl spray paint. I primed my grill and painted it. As it was drying I removed the tape, and the other stuff. I looked at it, it looked good with the specks in it but it was a dark blue, I mean really blue not black. So I took some gas and scrubbed it off. Does anyone have this problem with the bupli-color paint not matching?

I believe most people on this board had it matched at a bodyshop, which i think might be your best bet.

I am most likley going to get a semigloss black or satin black next time and try it. Its alot better than spending $100 at the bodyshop IMO. But thanks for the idea.

when i blacked out my logo i noticed it was more blue, but so is the whole car. i'm happy with it. u can't expect a factory finish from a can, but even body shops have to make adjustments. i wouldnt use it to blend scrathes

Youre not gonna get an exact match from a spray can, you would need to go to a bodyshop for that.

paintscratch, is a good place also. They supposedly color-match it to the factory color rather than just a universal blend.
