We took delivery of our new TL the day after Thanksgiving. Absolutely love the car! Smooth, powerful and obviously very well built. However, one question to the group. Does your driver's door glass, when stopping at the top of its travel, make a loud "clunk" when it stops? Ours sounds like someone knocking a couple of 2X4s together. More like a "clack'.

Seems a bit out of character for a car like this. The real question is, is this normal and should I mention this to the dealer? Appreciate your help!

 

OH yes... This is a known kinda-thing... Use the search tool. There are several threads on the issue (if it is truly an issue...) I am not sure that anyone has actually had it "fixed."

I think it's just the way it is... Good seal, no???

 

Yea, this one has been mentioned several times. And as mentioned by DarkWraith, not really an issue and a fix hasn't been mentioned in any of the posts. If it's a concern let the dealer take a look at it and see if his explanation makes any sense.

 

Thanks. Appreciate the get-back. I searched the threads and the only thing I found, many times, was the issue of the glass rattling when rolled down.

I never found anything on the loud noise mine makes when hitting the stops when closing. Or am I not using the right search criteria??

We love our Acura. Would do it again. There are just a couple of things we love less than others.

 

I think it sounds like the window is closing securly and personally I don't mind the noise. On my other car, the power window is so wimpy, it barely goes up and it's reassuring to know the window on the TL goes up securely and lets you know it.
