My 08 TL-S downshifts really fast. When going from 40-20 miles, there is this sudden drop feeling (not stepping on the break). It feels as if its downshifting really fast. The first time i noticed this, i assumed it was the brembo brakes that was making the sudden drop (thinking the brakes work extremely well). Today as i was driving, i took my foot off the brakes and as the car was slowing down from 40-20 miles, i felt that quick downshifitng drop again. Is something wrong with my car or is this normal?

 

is this an 5AT? if so mines does it too, so im assuming its normal

 

its normal and totally cool in my book...the transmission downshifting as you slow down...that way when you go to jump on it, there is less of a hesitation....

i actually find it quite annoying, as the quick downshifts and delay upshifts (going downhill mostly) make the ride jerky and uncomfortable.... they also have become alot more noticeable as time increases... and as my HP/TQ increase too it does, however, make my car sound like a 6MT to all others on the road...

 

^ wth you find it annoying... I think it is great for city driving... I rarely have to hit the break when the moron infront of me is riding his break pedal... I just let it drop down to the lower gear and slows me down... HOTNESS

and for corners for some great reason this car knows when it is about to enter a corner and it drops down to the lower gear so you can explode out with full throttle
