When I got my 04 NBP 6spd my brother-in-law fell in love with the TL and I helped convince him to join the club. He got an 04 SSM auto and nothing but bad luck. Had it two weeks and got rammed by a deer. The deer hit his rear quarter so hard it pushed the trunk lid into the passenger quarter and chipped it. 4k and 1 month later got it back and battery died. This week he got creamed in the same spot (drv rear quarter) by a 16 year old girl who ran a stop sign. (I know this thread is worthless w/o pics)....But the story gets better. The girl realized what she did and took off. Props to by brother-in-law. Without thinking twice he called 911 and took off after her. He caught up to her and waited for police to find him and pull her over. So she can add a Fleeing the Scene ticket to her other accomplishments from that day. Looks like another extended repair for his SSM but a job well done in not letting her get away.

Even with all of this bad luck, he still loves the car. It's so sad to see a wrecked TL, let alone the same one twice.

 

I'm glad he's still faithful to the TL. The girl should've known better than to outrun a TL. What was she thinking?

 

Sorry to hear about the TL and the deer........ Serves the girl right!

 

The deer was fine, it popped up and ran into the woods. They cause a ton of damage and usually just walk away.
