The doors on the TL are so annoying

Can't ever leave the door open it always comes back and tries to close. Why is this and how can I fix this? Its embarrassing when I am constantly fighting with the door pleading that it will stay in place if I am grabbing something from my car.

The search function is your friend. Sometimes if you find you aren't getting good results try typing "acurazine" first into google, then whatever phrase you would have normally put into the search bar.

i plan on doing the passenger side this coming weekend.

stock tl "groved door checker"

compared side by side

accord door checker installed

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the self-closing doors. Now that I'm well adjusted to it, I can't imagine NOT having it.

srsly.

I don't have this problem at all, there are three stops when you open the door and they stay open for me. I park on a slight slope as well.

not motorized, but the joint helps the door close, because they are heavy doors

Hmm, this makes a ton of sense (such a newb!)

I'm always getting my legs closed in the door and blame it on my slanted driveway. This makes a ton of sense now. Now I can tell people stop slamming my doors because they're fancy self-closing doors

This is funny. Whenever I drive my wifes Jeep GC, I get out and close the door as I do in my TL. I look behind as I'm walking away and the GC door is still open. I have to walk back and close the door the rest of the way. I would always think that they didn't do a good job with the doors like the TL is. I much prefer just getting the TL door started and it easliy closes.

Apparently not everyone is smarter than their car door.

My doors make a hellacious amount of noise when closing them just slightly too hard. I'm wondering if dynamat would help this.

It would only exacerbate the matter - you're adding mass. Dynamat sucks a fat one anyway.

It's pretty annoying having to adapt to a new way of dealing with doors. Make a conscious effort to open the door kind of slowly until you feel the notch for the hold positions. After a while you'll be able to do it quickly and it becomes a nice feature instead of a nuisance.

I've always loved the way the doors close. I usually get in or out and let them shut without touching the door. My mom and friends however, hate that it closes on their legs.
