Door lock question

the problem is i can't lock the doors with the fob or use the driver's side door lock to lock the doors. i have to manually go lock all 4 doors. the fob will unlock the doors, tho. is that a driver's door actuator or a multiplex problem? or something else?
thanks,
scary

Check that the door switch is OK. If the car see an open door it will not lock. If water soak the master lock it could also cause the short. Door lock actuator can also go out, plug one in and see if it locks.

hey... check out this thread:

i had the same problem a couple of years ago and the dealer changed out the actuator twice but that didn't fix the problem. they had to replace the multiplex unit. haven't had any problems since

Actuator

I had a similar issue over the last week. The beep and exterior light blinking when locking the car wasn't working...but did when I unlocked. I thought it was the multiplex gadget I read about on here but then realized it was b/c my front passenger door wasn't locking...the actuator broke. (although oddly, if I manually locked it and it remained in locked position after pressing unlock on the FOB, the exterior lights still blinked) Anyway, glad I didn't take it in for a multiplexer fix b/c that would have been more expensive and un-needed based on what I've read in the forums. I did price around and 1 dealer wanted about $250...the other wanted $299 plus parts. I found a shop close by that only does Hondas and has been around for almost 20 years. They use genuine parts...and did it for $108 out the door. I mention all this so that you don't miss the obvious issue (busted actuator) and you consider looking for a dealer alternative so you don't get price gouged.
