Dealer said car would be built Feb 27th and delivered first week of March. Is that the level of detail the dealer would have?

 

Yep. And once it's been built, request the VIN.

I just got off the phone with Rallye Acura and they told me the same thing - built in late February, delivery early March.

Several other dealers told me I would have to wait until April, so early March doesn't sound bad.

 

I firmed up the order in mid-January. We did the deal on January 2nd, but it took my wife and I over two weeks to pick a color: WDP with Parchment.

 

Yes. In my case, the dealer told me the build day and the deliver date. He was right in both cases.

 

In my case, my car was dealer trade, so I only had to wait 2 weeks

 

Since 04TL Navi is in shortage, dealers seem to have the new ways to inform buyers of the VIN.

Last year, I was having my VIN a month early prior to my built date. IMO, besides the difficulty of getting the new VIN as early as possible from computer systems, I guess the late release of VIN could get less trouble for dealers themselves.
