Thumbs down Does my Alarm Work?

When i lock my doors with the remote, the doors just lock, no flashing lights, no honks, no beeps. I set the car to beep by the controls in the keyless settings. Any one have any suggestions? I was wondering if the alarm was cut before i bought it used.

After the doors lock does the car beep if you press the lock button again? (it's not a loud beep - after the first lock the car beeps on each subsequent push of the lock button that happens within 5 or 10 seconds of the first one)

Try this: open a window, exit the car, close the door, lock the car with the remote, keep the remote away from the car, reach in and manually unlock the door and open it . . . . this should set the alarm off (maybe before there is some sensor that picks up the immobilizer chip in your key) . . . . .

Have you tried pressing the panic button on the remote to see what happens?

Check the hood....Had a one time issue where the hood was closed, but the switch was acting weird and thought it was open, so it wouldn't arm or anything. Opened the hood and then closed it back and it cleared itself up.

Open and close the hood nice and hard. Also open and close your trunk. Then try it.

I knew the trunk made it do that. Didn't know about the hood though

The panic button doesn't work, and the window open, and open car from outside doesn't work either. But on another note, when i'm in the car, and its on, it still will detect correctly when the truck or hood is open.

So here is the problem. When the car is off and locked, it doesn't beep even thought the option is set no matter how many times i lock the doors with the remote, and also the stick lock security light doesn't blink, and also panic button doesn't work...

Thank all you for your time and help!!!

it should be blinking when armed and should be off when the car is on. you may have a bad door lock assembly on the driver door or a bad alarm unit

Maybe the light stays on as an indicator, meaning that there IS a problem with the system

It actually does work. When i first purchased my vehicle i thought it didnt either. I tried sitting in the car after alarm activated and then open it, nothing happens. But recently for some reason when i sit in the car for a while, and i tried opening the door, my alarm would go off.

Theres a link in the 3G garage to all the digital files of the car manuals. As well, if the car is under warranty, get the alarm checked out and other issues so the buyer can be more secure and happy that the car has been maintained.

Welcome to AZ.

The owner's and navigation manuals are linked from the 3G Garage to: https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/...01_OMANUAL.asp

I don't think shop manuals are available, but you might try a search of the threads for the alarm issue and maybe door alarm light swap to see if there are any diagrams or photos. G/L!

couldn't find any info on the eom factory alarm. is there a fuse? where are the alarm components located? does the 2 wires that go to the door led have constant voltage or does it only have voltage when the alarm is on?

Does the horn work?
Maybe it's not the alarm system per se.

yes the horn works. everything works as normal, just the security led on the door is constant on and the 2 wires that connect to that led is 12v constant.
