Does everyone have this sticker under their hood?

I was cleaning my engine the other day and noticed this sticker under my hood. The first line reads this vehicle is equipped with a remote control engine starter?!? I bought this car CPO with 16k miles. Do you guys think I have an aftermarket remote starter? Where would this thing be in my engine compartment?

sorry about the pic

hmm i'm not sure if your dealer could help you because a dealer wouldnt keep the remote starter. they wouldnt have any use. what probably happend is that the person who traded the car in kept it for sentimental purposes haha. if it is already installed, you could probably go get it checked out somewhere and somehow just get another remote for it but itll cost ya

well, I don't really care about the remote thing, I just want to make sure nobody can start my car and unlock it. I guess I'll ask if its unplugged. I feel somewhat cheated since they sold it to me saying the car never had anything installed or changed. I wasn't there to pick it up when it was purchased btw

thanks for the help

Perhaps a dumb question....but can you go to the manufacturer of the alarm and request another remote? You can prove you're the new owner with your copy of the title.

I'm sure the previous owner didn't pay to have the system removed, that'd be extra money and time....

Edit....can't see the manufacturer on that little sticker....so you need to ask the dealer to contact the previous owner to ask about that. Unless the dealer bought it at auction (e.g. wasn't a trade at the dealership), they should have the owner's info on file.

Yeah I'll probably bring it up at my next service. I don't even know where the system is installed. The sticker says nothing about a manufacturer

OK, that sticker is really hard to get a picture of so I just wrote down exactly what it says

Attention
This vehicle is equipped with a remote control engine starter. Before performing any under hood services test remote start system with hood open to insure hood safety switch prevents starting and/or remove main power fuses

the rest is the message repeated in french
