Does anyone have the trunk tray in their 04-06 TL? If so, how do you like it?

It's an $85 investment and wondering if it's worth it to get it. I'm guessing most would say no haha

Here's a picture for those who don't know what I'm talking about.

I would have to agree. It's worth the investment for me. I don't have to worry if I'm picking up objects from the Home Depot.

Just pull the tray out and hose it down.

I like it since its easy to get sand out. I go to the beach too much and sand pisses me off when it lingers..........

Well worth the investment if you want the trunk carpets/liner to stay nice & clean looking.

Forget the $85.00 you can probably get one for less than that on eBay!

Before you go cutting holes in it for the cargo nets do a few searches there are a few ways around it.

Yes, I have the trunk tray. I like it because it is "sticky," preventing most items from sliding back and forth in the trunk. I got it thrown in when I bought my car.

Absolutely get one! Its a must if you like to keep your car looking good. I have had one since day one and I love mine. Its a great investment, just spend the $85 and be done with it.

Definitely get it. It keeps the carpet looking great. I didn't cut the holes out because that defeats the purpose: liquids, sand etc. would be able to get through. I put it in after a bottle of liquid soap broke and the liquid ate through a bag of cat litter. What a mess. I was able to clean it up but didn't want to deal with anything like that again. The car was about two months old at the time.

I just bought a Pilot and plan to get the trunk tray ASAP.

Mine has factory holes for cargo net attachment

It's a good investment.

I notice a lot of poeple here talking about making hole in it for net attachment. Don't know if the canadian model is different but mine already have holes with a bump all around to prevent liquid from going on the carpet.

I'm I the only one?

They all have the cutouts for the cargo net screws but don't go to town making a big hole.

1. Simply unscrew the net holders from the floor
2. Place the tray in the trunk
3. Re-attach the screw holders using the end of the screw to make a small small hole in the tray.
4. Screw the cargo net holders back in through the small hole you made and it seals up the hole.

I read this someplace here on AZ and it works really well.

That's a good idea, I should try to do this sometime. And to the OP, definitely get the trunk tray. It saved my trunk from a soda can popping open when I visited costco (i love this place )

Love mine. Like others, mine came with the purchase of the car as well. I now need to get the all-season floor mats.

Only 1 downside........ if you ever had to remove the tray for cleaning or whatever you have to unscrew the 4 (I think) plugs/screws.

yeah I have it, I love it because it allows me to be a bit more rough when putting my luggage in and or putting stuff in the trunk, if luggage were rolling on the carpet etc, then I'd lift more things as opposed to dragging them around. It's one of those things that when I sell the car (if that ever happens), I can remove it and say "look mommy, brand spankin new"

I have the trunk tray and used the method described above (just pushing the tie-down screws through) and it works great. Have had a few spills and not one has gone through to the carpet below.

Great money spent. (I also have one in the Honda Odyssey van).

I have it, too and it's a very good investment. If you don't want to pay that much, find a used one on Craigslist or the Black Market. I paid $25 for mine and it's well worth it.

Trunk Tray

If you like to keep cars clean, its great. I never installed the cargo nets, just kept it in as is. Easy to clean.

Did I mention it was easy to clean?

I agree with what everyone said....I have thrown sandy shoes, dirty tire chains, food etc. etc. w/o worrying about dirtying my trunk. IMO you should get it.

I fucked up and cut huge holes for the cargo net knobs, just don't make that mistake. I'm almost tempted to buy another so I dont have to view my stupidity when I open the trunk.

I have one that the dealer coated with an AmorAll typr ptoduct when the car was detailed. Works great, as it's like having a sheet of ice in the trunk allowing the items to slide all around.
I had to scrub it down numerous times to remove the "grease".

Having said that, I also have the nets installed after I drilled very small holes in the mat at the appropriate locations. The only problem, which was stated earlier, is that the hold-downs need to be removed to open the compartment to access the spare. Not a big deal, except I don't believe my wife could remove the net holders if she ever needed to access the compartment.

The previous owner of my 05 bought one. It works great for tossing in anything dirty and never having to worrying about it.

The only negative thing I've noticed is that it leaves a full sized foot-print in the carpet underneath. When the tray is removed, you can see my trunk has been stamped "TL" and has fat stripes running fore & aft. No biggie since the tray will never leave my trunk, but I think Acura could have made the tray with a smooth bottom to avoid this.

For this reason it gets a "9" from me...

Quick question.

Does the tray interfer with the nav's dvd player in the trunk? I've never seen the tray before so I'm not sure.

The TL trunk tray specifically does not interfere with the navi system in the back. The trunk tray is cut to fit snug against the DVD set on the right side of the trunk. If you do not have navi (like me), you will just have an empty gap on the right side of the trunk.

BTW, the tray does a great job of keeping the littles contained for easy clean-up. Stuff like grass seed, sand, soil, etc.

Thanks rksokol

I think I will have to look into purchasing one.
I had a nasty bbq sauce spill in my last TL - smelled wonderful on those hot summer days.

Best investment, especially after going places like the beach. Sandy shoes and leaking coolers...no problem.
