3rd gen TL worht it?
I'm thinking of selling my '02 TL and possibly getting a new(er) one, those who had 2nd generation TL know about the tranny woes, I have not spend that much time in the 3rd gen forum but wanted to ask all the owners if they had a chance to do it again, would you still choose the new TL?
What problems/annoyances are there if any that are common for the new TL?
Overall I'm very happy with my TL, but warranty is about to run out with 95k I'm nervous about keeping it to much longer.
( .... why is there still no SH-AWD model?
)

if i were in the market today, i would probably get a TL-S. mine is an 05. some of the most common complaints are rattles, dash fading and leather cracking/quality. sh-awd should be on the 4GTL.
Is the 3G TL worth it? As a former 2G TL owner, I can unabashedly say
even though I subsequently traded my 3G TL for a 2G RL. The complaints you read here are pretty minor, especially since the model is now four years old. If I were looking for a TL, I'd buy a TL-S.
As far as SH-AWD....that's one of the reasons I'm in an RL. In fact, you can get a non-navi 2G RL for not much more than a TL-S (I'm reading numbers on the RL board as low as $38k), so that's another option. The 4G TL will likely have SH-AWD--Acura has said there will be SH-AWD across the line.

Uhmmm, Yeah!
I had an '02 TL-S and went out and got the new TL-S.
Would I do it again. Everyday if I could. I really, REALLY like the new TL-S. And not a single problem so far :knockwood:. Never had any problem with the 2G either, inlcuding the tranny :knockwood2x:.
When I hop in the 2G now, it feels dated and slow. Which is weird, 'cause just 75 days ago, it felt fast and cool.

go for it, I drove my boys 2g, and then test drove my 07 tl-s... the differences are so big that you will not even believe, 2 different cars, yes, but it is like from a different manufacturer
I had a 2003 TL type S...and i can tell you it is definately worth getting a 3G...the car is awesome just get it already...you could just get a used one if you dont wanna spend too much..or if you can hold out for another year-1.5 years the 4G TL will be out

Point taken guys--you like 3G more then the 2G... I never doubted it for a second that 3g is better, just wanted to be sure there are no regrets for one reason or another.
Thanks! Hopefully some time soon I'll be joining the club, can't wait for the 4G to come out.
