Do random people try to race you?
The 3G must be quite the looker because Its seems like every time I go out someone always revs at me or signals for a race haha Anyone care to share some good kill stories? Most recent was a later model Hyundai Sonata on the highway who kept begging for it, so I figured why not and left by a couple car lengths after 80 mph

Well we can't discussion about "street" racing here on the forum "Ahem" but anyway yes its common for me and I guess my red color TL didn't help either. I don't like straight line but I had left a few Camaro SS and 5.0 Mustang scratching their head figure out what just happened during cornering, I used to run couple even at Lime Rock race park with BMW club back in the day.

When I bought mine it had trouble going into 3rd so I'd miss it sometimes (fluid change cured it, btw). One time I was rolling away from a light next to a WRX, went to hit 3rd, missed, and ended up just revving the engine in neutral. The WRX immediately took off and I couldn't stop laughing.

Si's try to race me sometimes, very similar when up there in speed. The other day a 2015-2016 WRX was keeping up with me and I was keeping up with him. Those things are fast I was surprised I could even keep up, I wasn't far behind and vise versa. From a dig, I know he would have pulled hard.

Only people who are in slow cars that dont realize the TL has a V6 with a 6 speed and im not bothered by them or people in fast cars who fly by but they arent really trying to race.
99.5% of the time though no, I own a 12 year old silver sedan in philly. The guy next to me has a $100K range rover and down the street is a maserati. M and "M" cars are everywhere, I see ferarri sometimes, porsche, and corvettes. There is no point cuz someone with a faster car is always right around the corner.

I was rolling with two scatpacks (one charger and challenger) and some corvette. While the Corvette and Charger were doing rolling races myself and the Challenger were behind. The two cars in front took off so the Challenger and I did as well. It was fun to see how badly I was left behind. I imagine a hellcat would be much worst.

Oh I believe that. They look a lot faster than they actually are. Or people know that stock ones are slow and want to show off. Not that RSXs cant be fast, they def can be.

i get the most heat from civic si owners... i did however walk hard on a '15 or '16 bmw 328i the other night that was driving up my ass to the point i couldnt see his headlights in my rearview and high beaming me at 2am because i apparently was in his lane.. ended up lining up with him side by side and took him by about a car and a half to two cars before i shut down.. felt good pretty good putting him in his place

Haha same here. Our cars must really look intimidating. I only have LED tag lights so I guess that means I'm a racer when nighttime hits. Oddly enough I had a Nissan Frontier then a Kia Forte pace me on the highway tonight. Once they realized I had the cruise set on 80 they backed off once they realized how dumb they looked lmao

when i was bone stock with a drop i got the occasional si owners rev at me or try to pace me.. but once i got a set of wheels and tire stickers the amount of honda owners that try and pace me has gone up by like 200%... just 2 days ago i had a modded AP1 S2K line up with me as well lol... i never had a s2k challenge me before so i was genuinely curious how i would do.. unfortunately we were pretty much dead even til i shut down... im wondering now if i would be able to edge out a stock s2k

I once pressed hard on the gas pedal next to a Genesis 2.0T. We accelerated until we hit the allowed speed limit, after which we concluded a Genesis 2.0T and an AT 3rd gen TL are similar from a roll.

i feel like we would walk hard on earlier ones but get walked on by the newer models.. unless you're modded

I had my bumper off to fix some cosmetic parts damaged by the previous owner as well as try to get moisture out of my headlight and restore it. So while I was in there I took out part of the intake resonator and put the end pipe on the tube coming from the filter like I found in a few threads here. So I was out doing some errands and wanted to see if it made a difference.
I came to a complete stop at a red light and the car next to me rolled down to about five when it hit green and I launched it pretty much right on best I can do. Well I didnt know he was trying to get ahead of me because it merges into one lane and he had gunned it ahead of me obviously since I was at dead stop. By the time I got to vtec in first he was ahead of me just enough that I could see he was driving a CTS4.
Vtec kicks in yo and I am right up next to him. Slam 2nd, which I almost always let revs drop a little but I wanted to see what she could do with the change and by the time I am at the top of second I was pulling ahead. I assume he was in auto and shifted up. I drove an auto cts4 for about 16 hours, so I already knew the TL was faster, but havent driven a manual.
Thats my story of how I merged from two lanes to one.
Side note on effect from removing the resonator for wondering minds: Noticed less hesitation when moving from idle. Other positive effect was maybe slightly better mileage, will see. Otherwise just sound changes.

I was eating lunch at a Taco Bueno back when I had my 4th gen Accord. Some kid revved on my parked car as he drove by it. Like I was going to quickly finish eating and go out and race him. Ugh.
TBH, my Maxima(s) seemed to be the biggest race bait cars I've owned other than the '71 Chevelle and '74 Z/28 I used to have. No idea why and what's funny is often it was a kid driving his parent's Honda Odyssey wanting to race. Happened 4-5 times with different ones during the 4 years I had Maximas.
Only time anyone wants to race me it seems (either in my Accord or G35) is if I pulled away from a light quickly or accelerated hard on a freeway on ramp. Did have a new Mercedes C300 get on it in front of me while I was getting on the freeway in my Accord the other day, he backed out of it once he realized I was gaining (slowly) on him. But honestly I rarely take the bait, almost always too much traffic and even though I see a lot less cops around now than before, it is an offense you can be arrested for so it isn't worth it.
