Disappointing visit
Just got back from Oakland Acura Service.
I had this laundry list with me:
1. 2 License plate screws and nut stripped.
2. Battery cover loose.
3. Memory lost twice.
4. Slight vib at 50 - 55 mph.
The service guy is rescheduling me next Sat. to check the vibration problem. Said they are overbooked today. Need to come back too for the replacement license plate clip and the broken battery cover (clip is broken so it is loose) which they have to order.
Of course the mem issue can't be replicated since it takes time for the settings to "disappear." So he can't diagnose that problem.
The rep did not even test drove the car. He just re-sched me for next Sat to have that checked. They don't have a tire balance in the shop. So if they will have it re-balanced it has to go to an outside tire shop.
Needless to say. I'm not going to this dealership for servicing. I thought I'll get better service since I bought the car there.
Hopefully, they will get my parts by next weekend.

Was you visit scheduled?
Had you actually "scheduled" a visit beofrehand or did you just "drop in"? It sounds like you were a drop in. If so, then you got the service you deserve. If it was scheduled and all they did was re-book, then they were not fair.

However, I would not assume that he talked to the service people, but just said come on in at 8:30 thinking they could get you in that day.

I'd deal with just the service desk guy from now on.

Yep, salesperson brain disconnect...
Yep, don't believe ANYTHING a sales guy says. Sounds like he didn't communicate with the service tech but rather tried to "fit you in". Sorry to hear about your run around. Hope it goes well next time.
