I noticed there are red LEDs under the dash in the 07s. My 06 has the slots but no lights. Has anyone done a mod on 06 and put blue LEDs under where the 07s have them?

Looks nice. Seems like they planned to put lights in the 06 but decided to go with 07.
Next time you go into your car check above the pedals for a round hole that has no function.

 

do you have a picture of that slot, do you know if they have it on an 05 too.

i bought the 8 LED kit and i can't figure out what the two little ones are for. maybe they are for this whole you speak of?

 

The 2 little leds in your kit are for the glovebox and center console.

I notice this too on my lower panels.

For $40, you could do a lot nicer setup...

 

For the 07 BASE models, the foot and center console LEDs are blue. For the Type-S they are red, like the gauge circles.

The PN I listed is the blue ones...
I don't think there's any wiring run for them in the 2006s..., you'd have to splice into one of the button illumination wires.

Acura should have patched it up or never cut that hole to begin with... it was meant for an LED, so put an LED... wouldn't that be the smart thing to do?

Why waste money on engineering the hole then have it left to do nothing.

It's like having a cassette player in our TLs, who uses them? My brothers new Acoord SE/Civic SI doesn't even have one and it is basically a lower class Acura

 

I guess it works out cheaper though because they didnt have to reengineer the peices to add in the hole. Maybe that woulda have cost more in the long run? And they save money not putting in the LEDs

And I definitely agree on the Tape players being the biggest waste of money! for the amount the tape player portion cost, they could have added the LEDs

Could be they planned ont hem originally then changed their mind, and knew they wodul add to mid cycle rfresh. I have to assume that during intial dev they knwo they are going to do certain things on model refrehes and biuld some things in early ont hat may make life easilr and less costly as now they have to engineer and build one set of parts. also look at the new Accord, they have a deal option for LED Illumication kit, so you know they start thinking abotu this stuff early on. thent he marketing guys step in and decide what makes it and what is never going to make it or is a cost option or later model year addition.

the dude is really good. he has all the LEDs- 6,9, or 12 LED bulbs. it was to me w/in a week. I emailed him and asked him for a set for my friends GTI and he sent them w/ no probs.
