Did anyone install this on the TL

http://www.eracingworks.com/Weapon-R...1-p-38891.html

Thats a pretty good price, just wondering if anyone installed this yet, and do you need to take the bumper off or is it an easy install, and also do all the sensors correspond, like the maf...etc... or did anyone have any problems with this intake.

Thanks allot!

Doubt it man I see everyone either has a AEM or Injen. Just because an intake looks cool dosen't mean it gets good gains.

I'm almost positive it's a direct install, the bumper does not need to be removed to install this, remove the upper half of your intake and connectors, and pop in the new one. Although, CAI is the way to go, so if you're looking to add some HP, and get better mileage, you should just go with something you won't be disappointed with.

im never buying a cold air intake!!! I rather have a cheap pipe with a filter as an intake! Like what I have now that is breathing in hot air! I had bad experience with CAI in my old car it sucked in water and good think I had warranty. Also I was at dyno day somewhere and they dyno a short ram VS a CAI the short ram mad 2 more HP!! Yes True freaking Story. yall can dissagree with me if you guys want to

If you're going to get a SRI.. get the Weapon-R Secret Weapon.. If you wanna save some dough.. do a DIY SRI by replacing the ice box with an aftermarket air filter. You can fab a housing to reduce radiative heat but that's a bit rediculous since it will eventually heat soak.

What were they testing??.. performance is all based on the components and the setup.. If they had a huge effin fan with the hood open.. I'd believe it.. and if the CAI was a cheap over oiled filter.. end of story. It's a different story out on the street though.. but I believe once your going 20 mph.. no difference.. air will rush through to and the SRI will breath in cooler / denser air.

Yup I got it for a really good price. Is it the dual airflow chamber design or whatever the hell they call it. I added a custom piece to make it a cold air though. It's been as good as any other intake ive ever had and it sounds good. Throaty when your in the throttle and a nice whistle for lighter acceleration. but like I said i have it as a cold air now. The install was easy no additional sensors or anything required. If I remember correctly the hardest part was removing the factory airbox. I dont drive my TL a whole lot but with a 275lbs stereo in my trunk Im not to worried about the horsepower increase. Im gonna change the filter soon though.

I hear that.. I don't run CAI for the same reason. Not my thing to rebuild the top end.. .. If it was a project car.. different story I'm sure.. funny thing is that water injection can actually be beneficial.. too much and that's a different story..

lol.. cheap like me.. I'm thinking of swapping my cheap filter and put some real money on an apexi filter.. we'll see.. gotta compare the benefit / cost ratio.

The cheapest will be removing the resonator.. and here you go.. your own stock short ram. Drop in a K&N filter..and you're done.

I have a dragon SRI in my 08 TLS, real easy to install and the throttle response is definitely better.

I see the short ram does not have a temp sensor relocator.

I don't see a point of hot air intake...You are better off with stock.
