so the time has come.. i guess i feel my taste in what looks good on cars has matured (this site has def helped that) and im thinking about removing all 4 of my tints except the qtr windows and the back.

i hate the sun.

but i hate cops on my ass more.

i wana get your guys opinions on what you guys think look best. the limo tint all around look or the no tint look..

i really dig both. if you woulda asked me this a year ago i would have gone with 5% all around hands down.. now i dont know. i think the no tint look looks "classier" and begining to think 5% all around gives off more of the "young gun" look lol not sure how to explain it.. leme know what you guys think. keep in mind my car does have a "black&white" theme goin on. thats why in the begining i opt for black windows.

5% tint and no tint is huge differnce i mean it all depends on choice but if there were more options than that would have been great like 20% or 35 % bla bla bla...

Yeah im not down for getting pulled over once a month like I used to with my other car with 5% all around..

I will soon tint my windows, I think I will go with a light tint all around.. maybe 20-25% not sure though..

Yeah you should definately consider 20% rather than 5% all around i dont know about cops in San Jose but in New York they can be assholes when it comes to tints especially when they see that your young and think you dont know better.

No reason to need that excessive dark tint IMO and especially you are a teenage dude. You are going to get harassed like no tommorow. So do you really want to risk that and possibly have future problems with it? I'd say either run no tint at all. Or I know this wasn't a option for you do 35% legal it looks classy, and still helps with the sun.

I get pulled over maybe once a month for my windows, but I have a doctor's note so I don't get a ticket.

I got 20% around and I really like it. Tints make a big difference with the sun when you take them out you will notice it! So keep your tints!!!

^^ is that note legit or did you have to fake a couple symptoms with ur doctor? I would love to get one of those cuz just this year i had more than 7 tint tickets. I gave up and left the fronts without any tint and its so ugly.;

As legit as it can get. My doctor has my file in his office saying in it that I suffer from astigmatism (true) and have a sensitivity to sunlight (true)...so he's not going to lose his license.

Could I roll without the tints and just wear sunglasses? Yes, but I'd rather look cool.

The best part is wearing sunglasses in my english class and the teacher not being able to do shit about it.

I say keep the 5% all around and just roll down your front windows when you see a cop. Also what you do when you see a cop or when he see's you makes a huge differance in weather you get pull over or not. ( Do not look at the police) Most cops in san jose dont seem to care about windows. They use them to pull you over if they need a reason.

i have a 04 SSM and i have 35 at the back and 50 at the front. i wasnt really going for the look but i do think the car looks alot better with tint. the best part about it is the difference in temperature at the end of the day after work. the car is alot cooler than before.

I also have a black TL 08, with stock rims tho, and I have 32% tints.
A light tints DOES look classy and not juvenile. There is always a professional, subtle, privacy about tints that tell other drivers in an indirect way to "back off" or "i'm better than you" but without looking like jerk.lol

5% is too dark and unless you have specific reasons such as medical or you are a limo driver or a politician, then it will look like you are trying to hard.

32% is just fine to darken enough for good looks, privacy and leather protection, to keep the cops off your back, and to see out your rear window at night.

i have 6% on only the back window and 50% on all sides cuz i hate the minivan look, just for trying to look less tinted for cops. so the 50% is light, but i love it. some ppl tell me they couldnt tell if the sides were tinted or not, but im glad. cuz hopefully cops cant either. cuz i tend to get a few beers after work fairly often. fyi, avatar pic looks much darker than real life, since you cant see daylight thru other side at this angle. but my point is i reco this style.

And by telling you another tint percentage, we're telling you we choose option C, none of the above. As such, I say anything between 20% and 35% all around.

they hassle you because they cant see you in 5%'s if you had something lighter like 35's they can at least make out your face and wont hassle you

35% all-around. It's too light for most of you youngin's but I personally like it and that's what matters. I have no time to deal with being pulled over and dealing with fix-it tickets and I can see well-enough at night where I won't need to roll down the window.



Most of the time, while taking photos, the 35% looks much darker than this. I deliberately adjusted it the exposure to approximate what my eyes see in real life when viewing from this angle.
