Dang freaking semi-trucks and their glued on tires: good DENT repair in Los Angeles?

Dang stupid semi truck and his freakin tires broke apart in front of me earlier today...it put a dent in my hood...

Anyone know of a good place in the Los Angeles/Pasadena or Orange County areas where I can get his repaired.

Anyone hear of the Ding King?

These guys and their stupid glued on cheapo tires they use are always breaking apart...that is why you see so many on the road and they are dangerous...They should outlaw these tires...But the stupid trucker unions are too strong...This unionized world sucks.

Did you stop the guy or at least get the plate#? They are responsible for your hood - that's why they have insurance.

Sorry about that ... my step-father had a gator (part of tire) smash his front windshield ... and yes, unions do suck!

I had a hood dent fixed once by paintless dent repair....but it was a dent where the carwash guy leaned over the caddy hood to spray the windshield and put his hand into the hood....it left a dent....it was fixed for $45.

Yeah I hate those trucks. They're always getting in accidents here. I avoid them completely if possible. At least I know where all that rubber on the road comes from. What do you mean they are glued on? I thought they were like regular tires.

I pulled over a semi once when his brakes were on fire and he didn't know it. Most truckers are nice people and do not realize when the tread flies off, besides that is what their company's insurance pays for so most should be helpful in such matters.

I also have gotten plate numbers from three hit and runs before - after they took off - all of the cases I recovered full damages.

But hey, it's your $$$

I would call up a couple of body shops and ask them, or even stop by and show them the hood. They can then give you a better quote ... if it is fixable. I have seen some good body work before, it should be fixable ... good luck.

Oh yeah, watch out for the cheap shops - most of the time you do get what you pay for. My past body work on newer cars never showed any signs of any work, they blended the paint and fixed the damage top notch!

ITS CALLED FREAKIN RE-TREADS.....They save money rather than buy a new tire.

Most tires blow because of improper tire pressure, that and re-treads...saves them money...That is why you see all those big freakin tire pieces on the road...

Sorry, but my car is new and I'm freakin pissed.....If they can't get the dent out...I'm gonna need a new hood...I hate having something new and it is already screwed up.

Let me know if there are any Los Angeles/Orange County TLers out there that know a good Dent Fixing place!

Next time get the plate number and the CAL-T number on the door of the truck.
It will probably be of no use anyway. There was a piece of metal that flew off a truck and hit my hood and windshield on my old Accord. I got the plate, Cal-T, accident location and time. Well, their insurance company told me that unless I had a video of the object coming off their truck and hitting my car or the actual object itself with some tell tale signs that it is from their truck, they will not pay me a dime. The funny thing is that the trucking manager was just as suprised at the insurance companies answer as I was.

One would think that you could follow up with a call to your local state auto insurance commission. Who the hell has a video of an accident??? Sounds like somebody was testing to see just how committed you were to the claim. I would have pressed it as far as I could go. Usually insurance companies will avoid the extra scrutiny from a consumer protection group or agency.

Yeah the insurance company will always try to weasel their way out of paying. I guess thats why all trucks have that "Not responsible for objects coming from the road" disclaimer on them. Which is BS because they will ALWAYS say it came from the road. So I guess it OK for something to come off the truck and bounce up onto your car. For them to pay it has to come directely from the truck and hit your car without hitting the road.

If they told me something like that, I would go through the trouble of mounting a video camera in my car hoping it happened again just to spite them.
