Cupholder trick

Cupholder trick
Hopefully, this isn't a repost. Mods, if it is, lock it down.
Well, many people here complain that the cupholders have a death grip on their cops and are a bitch to get out. Well, after having a little disaster with my Starbucks coffee -- sadly, I must of had the first really HOT cup of Starbucks in awhile, too -- the other day, I noticed that if you twist the cup as you pull (causing the tabs to have less contact on your cup), it comes out much easier. Be careful of cardboard cups since putting that much pressure from twisting and pulling can cause the top to pop off. But for cans and hard cups, I thought I'd post that little factoid.

that is true with removal of most items. It has to do with newtons first law. Objects at rest tend to stay at rest, objects in motion tend to stay in a straight line motion unless acted upon by another force(also stay in motion). If you use tortion to loosen the cup first its already in motion, so pulling it out will be easierl. You can apply large amounts of force twisting something, more so then pulling it up vertically. This is also true in drift racing(peoplw who do so know what I am talking about). Thanks for the advice, Im sure many people(including me) wouldnt have thought of that until it was too late.

So true, I've had many "incidents" with the cup holding not letting go of my Starbucks until the lid flies off and a wave of coffee goes everyone. Twisting does help, but sometimes collapses the top of the cup.

I used the StarBucks Brown little circular cup holders (dont know what to call them - The ones you can insert your cup into, about 2 Inches in height)
and leave those holders in the Cup Holder .. they get caught in the Rubber and tighten up a bit. Now you can easily slide any cup in and out, and those brown holders remain inside.
