+1 but you probably shouldn't go too fast for the condition of the road...

I'm over in Jersey and we have been getting it worst then you guys in PA. The snow feels like sand from all the hale and ice! I seen a newer gen accord coupe flying on the non plowed highway, I was going 35 and that was pushing it.. He must have been doing a good 60.

I live in Exton, Pa and had to drive up to Scranton and back today. My yokahama avid envigors handled the snow and slush very well.

a couple weeks ago here in Dallas it was snowing for a couple hours. we didn't get that much snow, it ended up being less than 1 inch. all the snow started melting when the sun came up around 3, and that's around the time i was driving my 2001 isuzu rodeo sport and spun out.

ended up taking a guard rail out.

fortunately for me, my car didn't go all the way over the edge. i don't think i'd be sitting here typing this if it did.

LONG story short, car was totaled, got a check from insurance (allstate rocks) and now i'm in a '08 TL base w/ nav. WOOT WOOT

from that moment on, i learned to be patient during the elements. gotta drive CAUTIOUSLY

Down in South Jerz here. My 90-mile round trip up and down 295 was a JOY today.

Ibpussy, tired as hell of the snow.

90 miles round trip on 295 daily is ridiculous. I did 90 miles round trip to work when I lived in Indiana and it took me about 90 minutes round trip. I facking hate NJ.

I'm just outside of Philly and its still snowing. HARD. I can't see my TL anymore and its right in front of my house.

This morning a RWD Mercedes spun out in front of me and got stuck, blocking me. Normally I help people push their cars, even in my formal work clothes, but I just have no sympathy anymore for those with RWD luxury cars that try to drive in snowstorms.

Up in NEPA they were calling for an inch or less, we ended up with 8 inches and it just stopped, meteorologists are all morons, talk about a job where you can be wrong all the time and get paid. Didnt have any issues driving since I traded in the car for a new Grand Cherokee but we had quite a few calls out for car accidents, people never learn.

It's about 2 hours on the road each day, I really don't mind anymore as those 60 minutes each day give me some much needed time to decompress after work.

Hating NJ? Highest fucking property taxes in the state and yet my Spec. Ed. Teacher wife doesn't get a raise for 3 years and they are still laying off teachers? I'm soooo out of here if she gets laid off, I've had enough of this cash-gouging state that STILL leaves me OWING taxes in spite of the fact that I pay a higher property tax to mortgage ratio than ANYONE I know.

TL;DR - NJ wastes cash like a dop fiend

Guess we all got it pretty good. I'm about an hour north of Philadelphia and my TL looks like it dove head first into a snow bank, not a single part of the car is visible without having to brush the snow off. Anyone know the total? Looks to be about 6"+ on top of the snow that we already had

We got about 5 inches of snow in my part of Northern Virginia yesterday, but other areas got up to 10. I drove to the subway stop to pick up my wife and the TL was outstanding, as usual. Turn off the VSA when I have to stop for a red light and start out in second rather than first, but other than that, business as usual other than driving slower than normal due to road conditions. I do not have winter tyres on the car, just Michelin Pilot Sport A/S's, but they were fine. Had there not been enough other traffic on the roads to create some tracks, it might have been a bigger problem.

But I had it lucky. My mother e-mailed me to say that my father left his office downtown at 3:45 yesterday afternoon and finally got home (maybe 20 miles away) at 10:15 last night. They live about 10 miles to the northwest of me and probably got about 7 inches of snow. Based on the news reports, my father had it good: Some people reported 13-hour commutes home. The George Washington Parkway was closed this morning so the cops could tow away all the abandoned cars. That road has no shoulders and no exits, so if you get stuck on there, you're STUCK. I don't know why any sane person would use that road during a major snowstorm. (The biggest problem in some ways was that we had torrential rain before it changed to snow, so all the stuff that was put down to pre-treat the roads got washed away. Then the idiocy of your average DC-area driver, most of whom have a "fuck-you" attitude in the first place, took over.)

I'd be mad as hell if I wrecked my car in 1 inch of snow...but then again you guys probably aren't used to it.
