Couple Q's

My rear spoiler is loose on my type-s, is this a common problem? Just the drivers side part of the spoiler is not flush against the trunk lid.

My TPMS is throwing errors on cold mornings but as soon as it warms up a little bit the error goes away on the MID. Is this normal?

The TPMS is normal. On cold mornings the air in your tires become dense therefore the PSI inside the tire goes down. Anytime the PSI drops below I think 30PSI or 29PSI, the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) will indicate that you have a low tire pressure.

Once you drive the car for more than 10 minutes or on the highway, the tires heat up and the air inside the tires expand.

An example would be

Cold tires - 30psi - (car sat over night)
warmed up - 33-35 psi - (car has been driven for 10+ minutes)

correct tire pressure for your car can be found on the drivers side door jam. I think it's 32 or 33psi cold

Sweet, that's exactly what I thought. I need to get a hold of a more accurate tire pressure gauge because I don't think the one that I have is very accurate nor is the TPMS accurate.

Anything about the spoiler?

I tend to notice digital ones are pretty accurate. Digital and the ones with the needle gauge (unless you dropped it, than it will be off by as much as 5psi).

The pen-style PSI meter that has a little bar the flys out the end of the pen is sometimes a bit inaccurate. It sometimes reads less or more PSI depending on how you hold it and the amount of pressure you applied to it onto the valve stem

You can try 3M double sided tape to repair the spoiler. You can find it a Lowes or Homedepot.

And I would highly advise you strictly use the 3M. No other double sided compares. I think they make a body panel type.

So I take it that it is a pretty common problem then? Simply screwing down the spoiler tighter won't fix the problem?

It can probably be pretty tight at the bolts but still "peel" up a little at the edges. Using the tape helps get those seams as tight as possible.

For best results I would take it off, remove any old tape, clean it and the trunk lid well, and start from scratch.
