Cool Couldn't Wait for the 2004TL

Well it's like this...was able to buy a 2003 for 25,413 ($1,500 less than invoice) If you look at what the 2004 will cost $33,000 (just my guess) and that dealers won't be discounting anytime soon.

Is a bluetooth (what ever that is) worth $8,000 extra. Buyers of the 2004 will be living at the dealers getting this new technology repaired.

From my view point "if" the 2004 get proven, I can sell my 2003 in two years for $20,000 and buy a new 2006 TL "with all the bugs worked out" for $500 over invoice.

Maybe I'm crazy for feeling this way but I feel secure.

Good deal on the 2k3! :wow: That's even less than a TSX (or at least close to it...)

I guess you don't want to be a beta tester.

good deal, and Bob have excellent point about 1st year production cars having bugs & dealer mark-ups (or at least no major rebates/discounts, etc)...

Contratulations on your new purchase, larrynimmo! Yeah, with their higher prices, the new TL's don't look very appealing to me. The cost of what I could get an 02' TL for, compared to the competition, was the deal maker for me. It's too bad that Acura has forgotten what makes the previous TL's such a good seller.

Makes sense larry. At this point if I got rid of my '96 TL I would have to drive the TSX before buying anything.

Excellent choice. I might have done the same. However, I have a point to make. I'm sure bluetooth isn't worth an extra $8k but since you got the TL-P, the 45 HP difference between your car and the new TL, as well as the rest of the features, would definitely make the car worth it. There is a night and day difference between the TLS and TLP and with all the suspension and transmission upgrades, I would imagine the gap is even wider between the 2003 TLP and 2004 TL.

Enjoy your new ride. There is more than Bluetooth for $8k, but you still have a great car!

YA A LOT MORE, Not saying you didn't make a good decision, but the new TL's Handling will just BE WOW! and the INterior will also WOW You, and there is many other new functions in the car that will WOW you and your friends, and with a body kit and drop and 18's it will kick A$$

XM RADIO TOO!

Just to give you a jist of the features, The car has a solar sensor that varies the dual zone climate control to suit the needs of the passenger so the sun does not bother them.. Small things like that make a big difference, thats why rich luxury cars are LUXURY cars, its the little things that COUNT...

You talk about a "rich car"...what is Honda going to do about the ride to make the car a "rich car"....2004 is a great car, but it's not a total change over previous designs.

I have to disagree with u here, TL is FRONT WHEEL DRIVE.. Therefore Torque steer & not WOW handling... Wanna see WOW handling? Drive EVO or WRX STi... (no luxury but big balls) cars.
G35 & 330 will be much better handlers with SPORTY as a key word, TL is more refined and has more features/gizmos... I predict the C&D comparison between G35, 330, 9-3, TL, S40, etc..
I predict TL to get 3rd place overall, with being tops in quality and features...
Some reviews already out, everyone likes, but still saying: this is no BMW 330..

Torque steer will not be a factor because maximum torque will come in at high RPM when the car's already moving. Therefore, I think the new TL will have WOW handling as well as negligible torque steer.

I think the new TL will come in first in the reviews for a couple of reasons. The TLS beat the BMW 330 once in a huge Edmunds review and the TLS came on top over a G35 twice and below it once. Since that was the older TL, the new one should come out on top. You're right, this car will not be a G35 or a BMW. It will top both by having better interior than the G35 and a lower price than the BMW.

Having full torque come @ the higher rmps might explain the 0-60 acceleration figures.. I wanna see 5.5-5.9 numbers for stick/auto if it wants to beat BMW/Infinity @ the numbers game..
I am sure it will be a very nice car, and as I said before, I have 3 cars in my sight now: G35 coupe, STi and TL...
Stay tuned...

I don't think 5.9 would be a problem at all, considering the old CLS 6MT is able to achieve that number. This car will have better tires with more grip, a better suspension, and probably much better aerodynamics and coefficient of drag. Acura would surprise most of us if this car turns out to lose in a duel with the older generation CLS 6MT.

Well the TSX has great handling, and I hear this car will have better handling specially with the special A-Spec tuned suspension...

If you go to A-TSX, some salesmens already have drove the car at the ride and drive, and they drove 330i, G35 sedan, and ES300 BACK TO BACK and Justin (one of the salesmen) comented that the TL was a slight advantage over G35, I guess we will have to wait for the 04TL before Judging..
