Costco helped save me cash
Has anyone else taken advantage of a Costco dealer when they bought their new car?
I got almost $2,000 off the MSRP at Acura of Van Nuys, Calif. Costco dealers don't have to give discounts on certain high demand vehicles such as the MDX, but I got an awesome deal on my new 2007 Type-S.
My Dad was the one who told me about it -- he originally got about $1,500 off his 2005 TL (Acura Calabasas, Calif.) and another $1,500 off his 2006 Lexus GS (Van Nuys). Combined we've saved 5k just for having a Costco membership -- although we needed to insist the dealers look into it. They were all conveniently unaware of Costco's involvement.

Im happy you are happy. But for me on all the cars I buy or for my parents, I start from below 'listed' invoice up if needed. For my 06 tl with nav I paid below 'listed' invoice. We all know listed invoice is not the real invoice. hehe
But anyways im happy your happy.

I love cars!
Costco didn't save you the cash, they saved you a little negotiation. Whatever they got it for , you could've gotten it for. As was said, with a new car you negotiate from invoice up, not sticker price down!

Ya i follow all that. No was in hell I was gonna pay MSRP on it. Unfortunately, I needed a car that day and they only had two Type S' on the lot -- one color I specifically asked for 6 weeks prior. I went in expecting to pay invoice and that's what happened, so I was cool with it. Southern California is tough, they know every car will sell so you need all the bargining tools you can get.
