Well, a couple of weeks ago I posted a review of my test drive experiences and the conflict I was dealing with related to trading a 2003 530i Sport Prem for a new TL.
Over the course of many visits to the dealer and pouring over this forum and many other sources of information, I decided to take the year end deal they offered. It's not often you leave the dealer with a new car and a check for several thousand dollars.
What a car!!! I can't stop smiling. Yes, there are a couple of minor glitches. The vibration everyone talks about is, at least in my case, flat spots on the Bridgestones. Goes away after a few miles. The dash rattle, again in my case, is the wind deflector for the sunroof (when closed). I'm working on that. Will let you know when I find a suitable fix. The seam on the C pilar next to the rear glass. Well, depends on color, and yes, they could have done a better job but, when I looked at my 530....same thing. So, get over it...and move on.
I only have about 250 miles on the car but it is amazing. Great blend of road feel and comfort. The engine is fantastic and the 6 speed gearbox is awsome.
Anyone looking at a sport sedan in the mid 30 range would be a fool if they didn't take a serious look at this car

Congrats! I got about 500 miles on mine and I still get an instant smile every time I enter the car So, what color did you get? Navi or non-Navi? Pics? Enjoy!

Yep, definitely a new VIN. I'm a little disappointed to hear that the rattling in the dash is still prevalent. My VIN (according to my dealer) is supposed to be in the 21000s. I hope I get the latest and greatest

Congratulations on your TL! Don't sweat the small stuff, it won't detract from the driving experience, which is enjoyable even from the 5AT side of things.

Mine is 15181. Is this concidered new. I got the car 12/13.
So far so good. I have to bring it in since the dealer stripped 2 of the rear license plate screws and nuts. I hope they can fix the top nut since it looks like it is welded to the car. They need to replace the battery cover too. Looks like whoever checked on it on pre-delivery, broke the platic clips. The covers are in back order so I will wait until they have it before going to the service dock. I tried to replicate the vibration problem to see if I have it. There is a bit of low frequency vib @ 50 mph but the steering wheel does not shake. I do find the steering wheel a bit heavier than my old 92 accord.
