Thumbs up First TL with A-SPEC

I don't know how to express my feelings, but I'm proud to be the first person with A-SPEC, well it's not on my car yet, but I've already paid for it today and the dealer won't be able to put it on until the 15th of this month.
Well, this is what I got:
- 2004 TL HP 6 speed manual with Navi ($35335.90)
- A-SPEC ($6200) including installation
- Backup sensors (Parking assistant) $600
- Car cover
- Window visor
- Moonroof visor
-Low jack system $1200
- Body molding-
-Extended warrenty
I don't know the price for the rest but the car came to $44890
Sales tax excluded, and guess how much i pay?
$500 a month after putting $17000 down.
Just note that the shock springs, steering wheel and the badge will NOT be sold separately, and all must come in one package
Everybody at the dealer almost went crazy for what I'm getting on my car and for the price i'm paying.
I'll sure post pictures once every damn thing is on my new baby.
If you guys are around VA and you need a hook up for a TL with a reasonable price, my boy at the dealer can help you guys.
Just wait till you see the pictures, and the car color is Night hawk/ Ebony.
My plate will say: QATAR or QATARE
Holler If You See Me

I can imagine how crazy it got. Looks the the sales team hit a grand slam with you. You paid full price for everything and trade-ins are usually 3-4 grand less than fair market value. But then again if Qatar oil is paying for your A-spec, my post is pointless. Enjoy and thanks for helping out the economy.

Qatar, I'm trying to lean as to not continue flaming but you did pay retail on this transaction. Enjoy your $6200 steering wheel and badge. Everything else can be purchased with a lot less from shops who specialize in aftermarket parts.. you could of even gotten some tight 19" chromes.

Yes, the TL is a nice car IMO but dam, I'm sure many of us would have chosen something other than the TL with 44K+ to dish out.

Just my opinion on a few cars as replacement of what you paid for your TL-Aspec

1) Benz E430 or E55

2) BMW M3

Guud luck tho.

Start adding all the ADD-ONS to this type of vehicle and in a year, it will be the same price as a regular TL. IF they increased the HP, it might be worth a little more in the long run

Shocks and SPrings....coulda gone aftermarket and proper better quality than crappy acura

Wheels....could gone aftermarket and probably gotten better looking rims.

Tires...see wheels

Brake Pads....thats like a $200 mod....dont see the issue unless they upgraded the rotors and calipers to a big brake kit

Aero Kit...you can get that cheaper outside the dealer

Steering wheel...you can probably get that aftermarket as well in a few months after teh aspec is around for a bit

Aspec badging...now why do you really need this?

All in all, I say you paid a crapload mmore than what it woulda cost you to buy all that stuff aftermarket...but then again this is my opinion and this is your car and money we're talking so ill just be quiet now

it would cost even more. If you take the time to add up every a-spec component purchased aftermarket (like i have) plus typical labor to install it costs more than their price.

I almost got the camera installed by the dealer, but then they said that if i want to do it there, i must get approval from Acura in California and it might take a while, because the camera is originally for the MDX, and if i installed it then, i would have got it with no warrenty.
So they suggested getting a camera on my own and get it installed by them, which didn't make sense to me , so i refused i went with the parking assistant.
I still could have taken the car to my friends shop, but i heard about the complicity of the TL wiring, and didn't want my car to be a test car.
I trust my friend with my car, but still, for the money i paid on that thing, i'll let no body touch it.
You should have seen how i was treated after i signed all the papers yesterday. The manager him self escorted my outside like i am a president and they offered me to pay me just to leave my car in the show room for about a week, and of course i said HELL NO.
I know people will be touching and playing.
It's just great to feel happy after all that waitting.

I agree with Jinen completely. Not everyone has time to go out here and do the mods themselves, or hunt down the parts. To some people simplicity and convenience is more valuable than money itself. Congratulations on the first A-Spec TL, you'll be the envy of many on the roads for a long time

Clearly that's a top priority for qatar. I'm not surprized they were so nice to you at the dealership after they made this deal. The manager probably took everyone to dinner that night to celebrate the single most profitable sale in their history. They should have put on paper hats and streamers and carried you to your car on their shoulders while fireworks went off overhead. The next time you go into that showroom there will be a neon sign that blinks "qatar qatar qatar", and it will be suspended over your picture blown up to poster size.

By the way, you paid almost twice as much for lojack than full msrp. It should have been $595-$695, and you paid $1200.:wow:

Hey man, all kidding aside (because its obvious that money was no object), have fun and be happy, and this car better get you laid.

Post Thanks guys

I want to thank you all for the posts, and I agree that i paid a lot on an Acura, but just put in mind that its not only I who will enjoy this ride, also other drivers will appreciate the ride on the road.
This car is not going to be driven in the coming three months because of the snow, and it'll be parked in a garage for about three month, and then the fun will begin.

Hey I'm in Richmond

Definitely let us know how the A-Spec drives because I haven't yet read any reviews about somebody actually driving it, I've only seen photos. I'm planning on selling my Prelude in May/June and getting the TL/Aspec.

PLEASE somebody tell me how the Aspec actually drives. I've seen plenty of pictures, however how do the new shock/springs/tires work at the limit? The base model has great handling, but I've read it wallows somewhat at 10/10ths driving.

from what im getting from the service department.. its not worth it.. the suspension isnt all that different, and the steering wheels isnt worth it either. My dealer by my house has a blk/blk 6 speed a-spec in the showroom that i saw over the weekend... its ok looking... you can defineatly do the kit and wing on your own and save some cash...

OMG, that is ridiculous. And 500 a month at only 1700 down? Your interest rate 0? Or you got 96 payments? Dude, do some hw (And math) to save some money if this is the car you want.

And you maybe the first and ONLY person to pay 45k for ANY TL.

Congrats Qatar on the purchase, too rich for my blood but its your money and choice. Enjoy it.

Did you pick it up yet, if so any pictures yet.

Also a few of you mentioned seeing tons of pics of the A-spec model. I have searched and have been unable to find any. Can someone please direct me to a few. Thanks.

Question How is the A spec ride?

I'm interested in the aspec. I love the TL right now, but I am concerned about ride stiffness and road noise with the larger tires and suspension change. Can anyone give me their opionion on how much noise and suspension stiffness the apec brings?

Qatar posted about his purchase almost two weeks ago. He had the A-spec package added to his 6MT.

Here's the link to the thread

Here's the link to his pix

Hope this helps. I'm still awaiting his comments on the handling, but he says the car will stay garaged for the winter. Bummer.
