Consumer Report Best Car-TL!

Notice it says hybrid... We are all looking at innovative ways to save money on energy, while still having performance and being more green...
That did not say it was reliable. I am not dinging the maker. I am just pointing out that these rating do not have anything to do with longer term reliability at all.

Notice how the TL's reliability rating is only 'Average'.

I am shocked that a Chevy ANYTHING can best all those foreign makers in this regard. Tells you we Americans still have a spark of innovation when it comes to cars....

no way in hell can CR rate the long term reliability on a brand new power train.. they can go by the past is all. Who knows how well the hybrid is going to be.. I am amazed at how naive people can be.. Sure they can expect certain things, but expecting and receiving can be much different...

Not a Blowhole
Now I want to sell my car - CU treats cars like toasters, and they are as corrupt as any other magazine, while purporting to be unbiased - read the transcripts of Bose litigation sometime and you will reach that conclusion as well....then there are the rollover hatchet jobs, etc.

Now, let's just see how that translates in sales.

As far as side impacts in small cars is concerned the biggest denominator is the presence of head side air bags. Even those that were acceptable with the bags were poor without them one both cars they are "options". The same is true for midsize cars. By 2006 all honda vehicles will have side curtain airbags, therefore even the lowly fit/jazz should get an acceptable rating. The IIHS side test is incredibly severe, it mimics a T-bone accident with a pick up truck. All cars have reinforced doors, unfortunately they are reinforced at car height, therfore its no surprise they will show poor ratings on the IIHS test. Its not a secret to anybody. IIHS is just driving home an evident point that without curtain airbags all cars will fail.

You know whats funny... the number of otherwise intelligent (I'm being kind here) people that insist on calling Hondas that are largely designed and built in North America, FOREIGN CARS...
All the while, GM, Ford, and Chrys... errr Daimler, all design and build much of their product overseas and their stuff is automatically considered Domestic.
It's really amazing...
