console trim piece removal?

curious if someone can point me in the direction or post directions for the proper removal of the long silver console trim/garnish that goes along the edge of the console on the left side near the drivers right leg.

Also, if anyone has this piece for sale/trade in good confidition please let me know. Mine has a small nick that bothers me so I'd like to replace it for a reasonable price. thanks.

Pry loose the trim panels from along the sides of the Acura's center console. The trim panels are held in place by plastic clips and can be pulled off by hand.

Here's a thread where you can find the aluminum piece:

Look up the thread about how to install the comptech short shifter. There are pics on how to remove those pieces effectively.

But basically you stick a butter knife under the trim towards the end where the armrest is, twist the knife (which pops up the trim), and then simply "peel" it off from back to front. From the armrest to the dash vents.

Good luck.

Be really careful when you get to the thin section up by the vents. Pull straight out with steady force.

Reinstall in reverse order. Top section, downward.

Mine doesn't either. It drives me crazy but I've heard it's a pain to replace, therefore it's going to stay burnt out.

A pain is almost an understatement. When I went on my interior bulb replacing spree last summer, that was one of them. Just getting the switch out is what's hard.

Best part- the passenger switch is burnt out now. I quit.

my seat heater bulb, left climate control bulbs, volume steering wheel control and trunk button bulbs were burnt out so i replaced all the bulbs for everything even if they werent out so as to avoid doing them again in the near future.

Funny you say that, the buttons on the left side of my nav screen went out, so I replaced all of those bulbs around it. But not both of the seat heater ones.
