CompTech-Acura approved
Stopped by my Acura dealer today and was talking to the guys in the Parts department about accessories, mods., etc...They said to go with CompTech products because they are approved by Acura and would not pose any warranty issues if something were to go wrong. They were selling CompTech springs and said they were designed for use with the factory shocks. I thought this was pretty cool since I was a little nervous about voiding my warranty with Aftermarket Mods. Anyone know if other Aftermarket Companies are Acura Approved?

Just Comptech that I know of. Might want to check Jackson Racing.

Re: CompTech-Acura approved
Better verify this with Acura itself, and/or other dealers who DON'T sell the product, etc. before assuming it's true! It's not impossible, but it's also possible this dealer just wants to sell you parts. Anybody else heard anything similar from their dealers? It's also true that if you just change springs, there's really not much that could go wrong as a result, so there's not much warranty risk. If/when you scrape the "spoiler" area on your car due to it being lower, I doubt it will be covered by warranty, though. (That isn't even something that's covered normally).

Yeah comptech is covered under warranty. Its the only company. Every car maker has a aftermarket company that they will still cover if something goes wrong.
If you scrape your front lip if you are dropped that is not considered warranty. But if you put the Comptech Springs and your shocks go within the warranty time they will replace your shocks....

I went into my Acura parts department and noticed a Comptech poster in there (I think it was a poster). Doesn't mean anything I suppose, but food for thought...

My dealer also sells Comptech parts. I'm mulling over just having them put springs on the car despite the cost. I'm also planning on test driving an A-Spec to find whether it's worth $6000 after install....

BTW, I used the spare out while rotating my tires and that is the weirdest looking wheel I have every seen. The Brembos require a LOT of clearance. That's why so many aftermarket wheels don't fit the 6MT.
