Comparing TL Type S to A-Spec

I recently rode as a passenger in an 07 Type S and sensed that my 06 A-spec (6 spd) handled better. Anyone have any experience on this? Anyone know if the 07 A-spec suspension kit is different than the 06? Not that I am in the marker for an 07 but I almost wonder if, rather than buying a Type S, it wouldn't make more sense to buy a regular 07 along with the A-spec suspension, wheels, spoiler and badge and pocket the thousands you would save. (you could also make a few more $$ by selling the stock 17" wheels and tires. What do you think?

In my opinion it would be tough to really gauge the handling differences from the passenger seat. You would likely need to drive both back-to-back on the same stretch of road/track in the same conditions.

Interesting observation though.

But then again goin to the TL-S gets you about 20 more hp (im not sure of exact figures.. that is just a guestimate) and also more torque.

This highlights a comment and a question. My comment is that, as others have noted, it was realy dumb not to includes 18" wheels on the Type S. The question is--how much of an improvement is the A-spec suspension over the Type S suspension?

I'm sure the potential is there, granted I don't know your mods. Coming up with 20+whp isn't easy with bolt-on's.

Engine prowess aside, I don't honestly know how the A-spec suspension and the TL-S suspension packages differ. If anyone does know I for one would like to hear about it.

Ok guys, I currently have an 06 w/ the Aspec suspension and love it, def. would never ride stock. I also test drove the type-S and that suspension is even firmer than the Aspec. I really like the type-S supsension, but I could def. live with my Aspec suspension........just my

I think the TL-S is a relative bargin. The MSRP on the TL-S is only $2,000 more than the TL with Nav. For that you get almost 30 more HP and a better but probably not A-Spec suspension. I think you would be hard pressed to get that much horsepower for $2,000

I have test driven 3 gen TLs since 2004, both manual and auto versions. I bought my 07 TLS with the 5 spd automatic - knowing that in Seattle on wet days the 6 speed would not be my wife's idea of a good thing. Now, we are both happy. The extra torque of the 3.5 engine and the suspension changes are what sold me. The seat heaters sold my wife.

the a spec package on the 06 tl only recieves cosmetic differnces and suspension differences ... i think ... but the type s recieves cool things like nav traffic on the gps, active noise cancelation system, updated transmission which is i believe the same as the rl, but with different shift points, a 3.5 liter engine which is also shared with the rl, quad exhaust pipes ... even if the suspension is not as good as it is in 2006 a spec tl ... in my opinion the type s is much better then the 06 a spec tl ...

I just read a memo from American Honda. The 07 TL-S A-Spec package should be available in May. I am eager to see what is included.
