Does anybody know the TL Color Codes ?
Also, is the color code part of the VIN ?

The color code is on the plate in the driver's doorjamb, just below the door latch. There is also an upholstery code there. It is not part of the VIN.

Was this the color code you meant, or did you mean the 3 letters they use, like WDP for white diamond pearl. If that's what you want, come on back and I will list them.

Ron A,

Some dealers do not list colors, but have an Acura color code in their inventory lists.
Frankel Acura does this. This code is 2 alphas and include:
BG, SI, BK, RV, BE, BZ, GX, GR, GB, RE, WY, BV, GN.

Any ideas ?

Rachel

That is just that dealer's abbreviations. There are only 8 exterior colors for the TL:
WDP WHITE DIAMOND PEARL
SSM SATIN SILVER METALLIC
DMM DESERT MIST METALLIC
RRP REDONDO RED PEARL
DGP DEEP GREEN PEARL
ABP ABYSS BLUE PEARL
NBP NIGHTHAWK BLACK PEARL
AM ANTRACITE METALLIC

The interior colors are quartz, ebony, parchment, and camel

See Post #10 below for an explanation of the 2 letter exterior color code in the chart in the next posting.

I saw by your profile that you don't own a TL yet, so I am providing this so you can match up the TL colors with your dealer's abbreviations a little better.

These are Japanese abbreviations? Or just intentional confusion?

Come on, they make perfect sense! Of course the same damn color can have 4 different abbreviations.

For the exterior color codes, the second letter is determined by the interior color.
Abyss blue pearl/camel interior=BU
Abyss blue pearl/quartz interior=BL

This is why you can have several exterior color codes for the same exterior color. It allows the dealer to use a 2 letter code to identify the specific exterior/interior color combinations.

The interior color codes are specific to the interior color (Camel is always CM, for example) and have no effect on tne exterior color code combination of letters.

Also note that the chart furnished above by Lore is for a 5AT, so there may be some codes for a 6MT which are not listed.

I know it has been a long time since the statement was made that: "the same damn color can have 4 different abbreviations", but I just came across this thread again as a result of checking out a current thread in the forum.

Just because the thread is so old doesn't mean that no one looks at it.

no because if you look carefully your car has a mixture of pearl. Give it a good wax. If your car was gray it wouldnt shine after a wash
