Coin Box

There's a butt print in my coin box.

Seriously, the coin box is poorly designed. It's too deep and coins are hard to dig out of there. Plus I can hear them rattling around when I'm driving. Now I don't keep change in the car. What happened to the coinbox tray that pulls out of the dash right by the steering wheel?

What coin box are you talking about? There is a coin holder that comes with the car, usually in the top compartment of the center arm rest, and it can be moved to the door pocket, where there are also tabs for mounting it.

There is no other designated "coin box", which means you are using some other cubby hole. If you want to continue to use it in place of the coin holder, try putting some foam in there, or, as some people do, put a cup or small container in the cupholder for coins.

That's the coin holder I'm talking about. It's too deep. Sometimes I use the cupholder. Seems rather silly though.

There are three slots in the coin holder which are spring loaded, so when you slip the coin in its appropriate slot, it remains at the top where it is easy to slide out. I don't understand what you mean by "too deep".

I know what 'coin box' he is talking about. My 3 Integras all have them, but the NSX doesnt'.
Just left of the steering wheel on dash board down around where your knee would be.

I'm not talking about coin box in the armrest. I'm taking about the storage bin right below the console. One is big enough to put a wallet or cell phone. The other door opens up to the power jack. It's too narrow for anything other than coins. What is it for?

Crap. It most certainly isnt for coins.

Since I havent hard wired my Radar Detector yet, that door is open all the time for me, and I usually keep altoids to the left of the power outlet.

Interesting! I do the same thing with the little Altoid tin, and I have fabricated a little rubber mat for the cubby which reduces the rattle of metal on plastic when I go over rough surfaces like RR tracks.

If it is:
Poorly Designed
Too Deep
The coins are hard to dig out
You can hear them rattling

Then maybe is wasn't designed to be a COIN BOX in the first place.

:wtf:

This is just to much fun! If they don't give us a place to put stuff, we complain. If they give us a place, we don't know what to do with it and...we complain.

WAIT. Wtf. I remember a coin holder in the arm rest when I was test driving the TL. But my new TL doesn't have it.

It has the "holes" for the coin holder........ where can I get one?

I suppose you could get it fom the dealer, unless yours found its way into one of the door pockets (an alternate location).

Na, I checked the door pockets.

Oh well, I will go to the dealer and buy one... I wonder how much can they possibly cost $15-20 bucks?

thanks

Yikes! That's a lot of money for that little thing. Since it should be part of the car as delivered, the dealer should just give you one. You have already paid for it.

It should be in the upper center arm rest compartment. If it isn't there, and you can't find it, make them give you one. This is one of those things that if you didn't know you were supposed to have one, you would never know it is missing excpet by reading it here.

This is one of those lazy Sunday threads which is not mind boggling, entertains, and stirs up a little interest. What would we do without threads like this?

The coin holder is $42.55 list price, $36.17 your cost, here. It is item # 13 in the picture. http://www.acuraparts247.com/sunnysi...All&vinsrch=no

I can't make a true poll, but how many people want to close this thread? First 3 votes win the prize, gets you points, and increases your post count.

I would do it now but we can still have a little more fun with this monster.

I use that small area to hold my cell phone. It even has a little rubber mat built in that keeps your phone from sliding around.

Yep, Ron, the thread has outlived its utility. Went from the sublime to the ridiculous.

Don't take us seriously. We are just enjoying the thread and the comments being made. We all learned something from this, exchanged information, had a little fun, so it wasn't a wasted thread.

You are vote #3, so I guess it is time to close this thread. :padlock:
