Question Clicking Sound from Wheels?

Hey Folks,

I'm getting a strange clicking sound from the wheels whenever I start or stop.
I have a '04 TL 6MT with about 38K miles. Anyone have any ideas?

I get something similar, but I only get the click in 2nd, after i take my foot off the gas pedal. I plan on going to the dealer to see what's wrong w/ it.

common issue. no big deal. it could be as simple as a small peice of plastic tab from the center caps bouncing around in the enclosure or something foreign in that area. Have you checked this yet. Also...if the lugs are lose this can make this noise....but that would be highly unlikely in your case.

Take a quick look at your CV joint boots. Both sides. You'll probably need to jack up the car, turn the wheels left or right and then rotate the wheels. Make sure there are no tears in the boots. A boot could be torn from dumping the clutch but also if you run over debris in the road. If it isn't bad you can repack the joint with grease, replave the boot and probably leave it for a long time. If it's really gone you may need a now CV joint.

Hopefully this is not the problem but it's good to check anyway. I check mine every few months.

Good idea...didnt even consider CV joints given the age of the car....but good suggestion. That would suck if it was this...damn! Hopefully its just deris in the rims or something....cause that would suck big time if it is CV's!

i have the same problem, my car is new w/ less than 1k miles on it and it's been there since day one. it's a slight clicking from the rear driver side wheel whenever i'm starting or stopping, usually under 15 mph.

i read in another post that it could be the abs cycling or something, but that's supposed to be a louder single click. somehow i don't think that's what's going on here. anyone have any idea?

Same issue here with my 6mt, However, I think I've got the worst of it. Starting, stopping, turning. I hear severe clicks (sometimes multiple) from both sides in the front. I suspect it's the drive axles themselves. I've got 500 more miles till 30k, I'll be in for the fix real soon. I'll let you know how it turns out.

There is a thread on here about this.. it could be your brakes and its normal. It's a place where the brake pedal is hitting something. I think its under teh Problems forum and Acura released a PDF for it with a fix.
