Clams on the tl shell
Can you believe this!!!
I woke up yesterday morning to a beautiful day here in Long Island. I was going to get my car washed because it had rained the day before. I decided against it since it wasn't that dirty because I got it washed 3 days prior. When I got in my car I noticed a huge pile of what I thought was bird shit on the windshield. No big deal, just an excuse for that car wash. I go to the car wash, most of it comes off, but there was still a little crap stuck where the windsheid meets the body. I also notice a small peice of clam shell but thought nothing of it. So I bring it home and get out the wax to get it off. All of a sudden I notice that my paint was chipped right in the corner of the hood! I thought to myself, "what kind of shit was that!!!" As I then looked on the floor I see a broken clam shell right next to where I had parked overnight. What happened was that seagulls take clams, fly super high and drop the clams on rooftops, the street, and now apparently my TL to break the shell open so they can feast. The damage was minimal compared to what could have happened if it didn't hit the windshield first. I'll post a picture of the damage, but it is raining right now so it will have to wait.

I can believe it I own 2 boats here in Chicago so my cars sit at the marina all the time in the summer, sorry to hear it. I've had the strangest items dropped on both cars and boats...some of can actually be like cement and darn near impossible to get off of either too.
i live down the shore in the summer. you would be suprised how these birds work. they will get a shell. fly up 40 ft or so drop it breaking the shell then eat the inside. we use to watch these birds do this in the street by our boat. sorry bout your tl. get a garage or something. birds don't care about cars they just want the food.
yeah, I live on the south shore, right on the bay. I watch the birds all the time, they really are pretty smart. The damage isn't that bad. Like I said, it would have been much worse if it didn't hit the windsheild first.

On Animal Planet's "The most Extreme" (intelligent animals I think was the theme for this show) it featured these ravens that would take some nuts that they wanted to eat up to an intersection with a stoplight. They would then drop the nut in the middle of the intersection and wait above the intersection. When they saw the light turn red, they knew it was safe for them to go and eat the nut that cars had just run over.
