CL-S Destroyed by Drunk. Time for TL-S
I had owned my 01 CL-S for about 2 years, and always checked up and around on this site until just about 2 weeks ago it gets totalled. When I decided on sticking with Acura instead of my dream car the e36 m3, I figured I might aswell join Acurazine.
I am at a red light going from work to school on a tuesday roughly 3pm. My light turns green and as I enter the intersection I end up getting tboned by a 59 year old DRUNK alcoholic who ran a red light doing about 50 mph, not braking or anything of the sort to slow down. I loved that car and wish I would have owned it a bit longer but I am now on to bigger and better things.
I am about a month (at most) away from picking up a 08 TL-S in either NBP or WDP and man I cant wait.
Here is what my CLS looked like after it got hit. Still looks clean too even when totalled haha

yeah those things are built like boats, the airbags didnt even go off and the only injuries i have are back, neck, and shoulder. nothing broken though.
@combatmedic
idk if that was a joke but if you were being serious take a look at the -1000 camber on the front right tire. everything down there snapped.

Too bad, it was nice! And good thing it wasn't the other door!
I loved my white 2001 CL-S until the transmission was replaced at 34,000 miles. It was not the same car afterward.
Wish you better luck with the next car.

i knew it was totalled the second i got out and could basically see the frame of the car was bent.
I test drove 1 of 2 TL-S' for sale in my area today and MAN did it feel like a nice step up from the CL.
Only issue is I feel like the previous owner had a heavy braking foot. 45k miles and almost everything was perfect besides this weird friction noise coming from the brakes when I would take pressure off the brake pedal after being at a stop.

yea he definitely meant that as a joke. theres always someone who says that after every accident
luckily your okay man, but i would highly recommend getting checked by a chiropractor as soon as possible. most car accidents can cause injuries that begin to show later on in life. right now if you need treatment, the insurance will cover it due to the accident. later on it might cost you out of pocket.
then you should go car shopping lol.

they come with curtain airbags and that entire area was destroyed. Here are more pictures I went down to the tow lot to empty my car out today. Literally ruined my day just looking at it and thinking of all the times ive had in that thing. Im excited to upgrade but am still so pissed I lost this car, I wouldve kept it till 150-200k.

TLsmooth35, welcome to the club and glad you're ok. I say 6MT is the most important thing to look for...base or type s. Nowadays though...type S's are pretty affordable.
So I finally picked up my new car about 2 months ago and sorry guys, but its not an Acura. I figured for this point in my life, I would much much much rather enjoy a RAW sports car than a nice DD lux/sports car... so I ended up getting this... hope you like

it depends. One of my close friends recently picked up an M3/4/5 in estoril blue with 140k on the clock for only 6 grand. car runs very soundly and is only going to need love on basic maintenance.
e36 m3s are great cars if you keep up with maintenance. if you let it pile up on you, its gonna sh*t on you. biggest maintenance wear items are the cooling system, and suspension bushings.
Prices of e36m3s range from 5k-11k and if you are looking for anything under 60k miles, prepare to look very hard, and spend over 15k

Well man they become expensive if your not doing the work yourself but truth is, these cars are very simple and easy to work on, so if you know how to read a DIY and have turned a wrench before, it should be no problem.
mine has 93k on the clock, its a 95 M3, in Daytona Violet Metallic. Great running condition, although it really needs some suspension work done. shocks are close to done and bushing could use an upgrade.
its also relatively stock, only upgrades are cross drilled rotors, a Dinan chip, and B&B Tri Flow cat back.
