Chromed Deck Lid

How do you think a chromed deck lid would look on the 04 TL? What color do you think it would look best on? Wonder what the cost would be?

Whoops! I meant to say chromed deck lid spoiler. Would that make any difference in your opinions?

Yes, big difference! That might be OK, though my preference is that it be painted the same color as the body. Perhaps you can get someone to PhotoShop it.

Thumbs down

I don't think that a chromed spoiler is the right look for the TL. No front wheel drive cars should have them. It doesn't serve any purpose on a mid-sized luxury sedan. I'm not trying to knock you, I just don't like the fast and furious look.

Luxury sedan? You mean luxury sport sedan don't you. I would find very difficult to classify the TL as simply a "luxury sedan". Even without the deck lid spoiler, it looks "fast and furious".

Ok..The Acura TL is a luxury sport sedan. Not a Pro modified dragster...That's what I think of when I see a foot tall wing standing on the back of the trunk lid. If you like it, go for it. You'll definetly have a one of a kind TL.

Foot tall wing? Do you even know what the deck lid spoiler looks like? I've attached a pic in case you don't.

My bad. All I could picture was one of those awful aluminum looking spoilers that are on every Honda civic in California. If you were to get this ducktail spoiler, you should leave it body color.

When I saw the deck lid spoiler (body colored) on the dealer lot and compared it to the decent lip that the TL already has, I said to myself "what's the point?". Plus they were adding $500 to the sticker for it.

Now a chromed spoiler would definitely be noticed. Only thing is, what chrome would you match? The TL has shiney chrome for the Acura logo but matte chrome for the bar over the license plate. Probably would want to go with matte chrome for your idea. How do you even go about chroming a spoiler? Is that something that paint/body place do very often?
