TL Horn

Has anybody activated the panic button? The horn on this car is louder than a fog horn. If you're inside the car with the windows closed you can hardly hear the enormous racket this thing makes. The other night a had a lady in a minivan cut me off (she didn't use her mirror or I was in her blind spot) the look of horror on her face after the horn blast spoke volumes! I'm not sure of she moved back into her lane or the air blast pushed her back in.

I love a loud deep horn, better than the wimpy horns in some cars.

Glad to hear that! I'm thinking about a dark color for my TL (black or blue), so at night those colors are a visablity issue. A good horn can save your backside.

I know this for a fact because I have a Miata and one of the first things I did was rip out the factory (toot-toot) horn for a Freeway Blaster model. Trust me, when you drive something that is as big as a rollerskate, you need to use the horn often.

Yeah the TL has kickass horn. The horn on my Maxima is a joke, I’m embarrassed to hit that wimpy horn.

I always thought of Cadillacs of having a really loud horn. There are 3 of them (high, med, low) . Very distinct sound....

LOL. I feel your pain. I just sold my '97 Max to buy my '04 TL. That was a sad horn : squeak, squeak.

I had to use the horn on my TL a few days ago when I got cut off by some dingbat driving one of those Suburbans and on the cell phone. I was so pissed, I slammed the horn and then said "damn that's deeper than the Max ever did that". I quickly forgot about the dingbat. lol.

Cool

Europeans have always had a thing about horns. I owned a peugeot 504 it had 2 horns that sounded off sequentially instead of simultaneously. When you sounded the horn (by pulling on the signal stalk, another french oddity) you would get an initial softer more melodius sound. If you kept the horn going a nastier raspy sound would come out of the second horn. Neat, huh? Although probably the most comfortable car I have ever owned it was the most unreliable, to put it mildly the reliability was abhorent.
