Cheap key fob paint fix

I'm sure most of you here, like me, suffer from fading paint on the buttons of your fob. I almost bought a new fob and had it cut, programmed etc. Instead I went a cheap route and picked up a little bottle of silver model paint (Trestors paint) and some toothpicks.

Anyway, it's not perfect but it looks a lot better

Before

After

I still need to do a little touch up but pretty simple to spruce it up for $1.77

It's not too hard to fix, but it's nearly impossible to find the internal part needed to fix it, seeing as how acura doesn't sell it separately. I got lucky one time and found a new key for like $20 and I transferred all the internals to my key

It's been bugging me, I will have to do some searching then and get it fixed. I have had the problem with the key not really "flipping out" correctly (kind of getting stuck 1/4 way through)

This is your solution:

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/New-Keyless-E...vxp=mtr&_uhb=1

Even cheaper than $20 and it looks like they have a lot of it so no more needing to get "lucky" to find one.

Wouldn't that need to be cut and such? Not to sound like a total newb but what exactly is the "loose keyblade"?

Nice job. I'm guessing you also picked up black paint for the logos on the buttons? Or something else?

Are you that OCD about the buttons or you can't remember which button is which? Mine is completely faded but after a day I remember what button does what.
