Changing Headlight Low Beam Bulbs

Alright, so before I get flamed, trust me I did a search. There were a couple results, but conclusively it did not help.

Recently my passenger side 8k low beam flickers, and then turns off completely. Sometimes it'll stay on for about a minute. I know the problem, I just need to swap the bulb out. If you're wondering, my friend at a body shop swapped the 8k for me before. This time I'd like to try it myself.

My question is what's the easiest way to swap out the low beams? I already have a set of 6k bulbs ready to be swapped. Can I lift the car, remove the tires and go through the fender lining? I'd prefer not to take the bumper off.

Thanks again for any of your help.

I don't think you searched. Next time try harder!

That's probably because we don't have "low beam" headlightsexactly. We have Bi-Xenon projector headlights, which means we have both HI/Low using the ONE HID bulb. Just thought I'd clarify that for you for next time

I'd recommend removing the front bumper..I couldn't see or feel shiz w/ the method of trying to replace the hid bulbs w/out removing the bumper.
There's no way my fingers would fit and you can't even see where the star screw bit is at...I removed the bumper and even the headlights for a simple bulb replacement.

Yeah, I know what bi-xenons are, but people usually know what I'm talking about by just saying "low beams" not like we drive with our high beams all the time.

Just some cheap aftermarket ones, lasted me a good 1.5 years.

Yeah, the driver side took about an hour, quite hard to see you're right. Passenger side was done through the hood, took about 1 hour for driver side compared to 10 minutes on passenger side.

mod please close thread

I recommend the Kaixen bulbs. Read my review here: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-photograph-gallery-96/kaixen-6000k-hid-bulbs-vs-6000k-ebay-specials-742814/.

Also, I did everything through the hood and fender linings, no need to remove the bumper. Just had to remove the battery for the driver side. Flashlight helps too.
