Condensation

I get some condensation in my driveway small puddle of water. I usually have the auto feature on the climate control set at about 72 degrees.

I live in Glendale, and as a fellow L.A.'er, you'll know it hasn't been humid or even hot. It's actuallly been on the cool side (at least for L.A.) I get the puddle day or night and have the auto climate control set to 72.

Although the tech guy said it was "normal," it still seems odd to me. And I searched the forum for related postings, but found nothing. As critical as the people on this forum are, I expected to find all kinds of comments if anyone had actually experienced this problem.

Jasonwrites - I would suggest starting a thread and see what others have to say. I haven't noticed anything - but I really havent given it much attention...

Parrothead - I read the link you provided and Ron A (mega moderator) probably explained it better:

That is why it is not truly an alarm, because someone could break the window and crawl through it and take everything you had in the car that he wanted, then crawl back out the window and be gone in 60 seconds.

A true alarm would sound when the window was broken, while our "alarm" only sounds when you open a door or the trunk, without using either the remote keyfob to open the trunk or the key to open the door after it has been locked.

If you purchase the upgraded Alam system it will prevents this from happening because an alarm will sound if the glass is broken... I misunderstood at at first.

To clarify - the standard alarm will go off if someone tries to steal the car or remove the electronics. The upgrade will add extra protection by sounding an alarm if someone breaks the windows.

Sorry if I confused anyone...

Oh, OK. Thanks for the clarification. I'm definately less confused now, although I still find it surprising that Acura would spend the extra money to enhance the alarm system, then make it optional for the buyer to pay for that functionality, else have the dealer disable it. But stranger things have happened. I appreciate your response, as I'm getting my new TL tomorrow and wanted to be clear about this before going.

I have a quote for 5AT/Navi from a closer dealer - $33,850 + tax@ 7.875 + Doc + CA Tire = $36,840/OTD. This was with no extras. I paid a few $$ more and ordered even closer to home.

I got my new Anthracite Metellic/Quartz AT Navi today. It just happened that someone order it with protection package but I ordered mine with no protection package. So Randall willing to give the Wheel locks and Mud guards for me free and took the truck tray back. The total OTD price is $37,040. I'm glad that I ordered mine with Navi 'cause the voice activated part of the Navi is cool!

New TL owner

I picked up my AM/Ebony/Navi Auto last Tuesday (11/9).

I was out of town when I received the call that it was in (they called the day I left town... aargh!) I was sooo bumbed since they claim to have a stricked 48hr hold period. Randall managed to hold mine for 5 days... I told them in advance that I traveled out of state frequently, so that may have played into why they were willing to hold it.

I picked mine up on the way home from the airport. At the end of the day, the finance guy was eager to leave, so I wasn't hit with much of anything as far as add-ons... he even said under his breath that I didn't need the alarm option (which just adds a shock sensor to the existing system).

The only option I bought was LoJack (which I had to bring up, the finance guy wasn't going to mention it). Asking price was $595, but I paid $560...not really a big difference, but every little bit helps sometimes.

I've got over 400 miles on it already and absolutely love it.

NOTE: For those that couldn't get on the power buy, I had already negotiated with Cerritos for the same car at $200 more than the power buy price. Cerritos is definitely more willing to negotiate prices than any other dealer I worked with.

I was originally part of the PowerBuy. However, I got tired of waiting and was not thrilled with the response from the Cerritos internet team (3 messages left, 1 reply and then by someone else). I went instead to Peter Capner and Teo Miranda at Acura of the Desert and had a great experience. They had been referred by family friends who have bought a # of vehicles from them over the years.

I was able to get an 05 Auto/Navi in anthracite /ebony for $33,400+TTL, OTD about $36,200. Part of the reason was they had a mix-up in getting my desired color combo (anthracite/quartz) and so discounted the car an additonal amount to make up. Driving the car and loving it!

I am calling Cerritos tomorrow to see if there are any outstanding units left from our powerbuy. I know we had two cancel and Al47 picked his up recently (1 month early). So I think that is everyone.

If there is anything that you want me to bring up on my call, please let me know. Other than that, I wont be checking this thread much longer.

Any suggestions what our next Powerbuy should be?

Please - take some time and help children who are less fortunate.

Thanks

Picked mine up

Got mine on December 1 from Randall, who left no stone unturned in making sure I was happy. Drove that night in inky blackness up I5 from LA to Bay Area, varying the speed. Had the music and the navi on. Great fun; like a space ship shuttling through the galaxy. Now 600 plus miles. Great to be in the club! Thanks again to Todd.
