Carbon Firber front lip

I was thinking about getting a custom Carbon Fiber lip made for my car. I was thinking of taking off the A-spec front lip and maybe getting something that looks like this:

or something like this one

or maybe this one

I think all three look really good but which one? I wanted some feedback and some comments on what people thought of this idea.

i think it looks good. I believe this has been brought up a few times but hasn't gotten anywhere. I think to only way would be to pretty much get it custom made.

are you kidding me? That last m3 looks really nice. I think it'd look hot if it looked like the 1st or last picture. Definitely not the 2nd though

I think Michael Benz is planning to produce a CF Front Lip Spoiler.

do you guys think it will look good on the stock front bumper?

The bumper on the Tl is very rounded and it might not look as good as those cars previeously posted. The reason I dont want to add anything on to the A-spec lip is because I think it will be too much. It will be a lip on top of a lip and I dont think that will look good

I think a CF replacement for the black/offshade parts on the a-spec lip would look hot.

CF lips are nice, on the right car. There's a huge diff between an M3 and a TL, but even that aside, just asthetically, the M3 bumper is much lower than the TL bumper, making the CF lip look good, the lip on the TL would be higher and may look awkward

ACCURATEin's car with the ASPEC lip and CF splitters looks awesome. I don't see why if it was one piece all the way across, it wouldn't be just as hot. With regards to the height of the car, his is pretty low though...

The best thing would be to have the A-spec lip done in CF. It would look great on the dark cars, on the white, maybe not as good, but it would stand out. As far as ricey, CF is never ricey, big mouth kits can be ricey, but not CF. CF is totally sexy.

Now if you where to couple that CF A-spec lip, with a CF hood and Lip wing!! Now you are getting a theme. The TL is a hot car, just wait till this cars really become used (5-7 years old) and there are more young folks with them. There will be more things produced for it and it will become a popular tuner car. Its not the fastest car out there, but it can be quick. Its comfortable, stylish and dead sexy!! So you will see more of the 3rd gen TL at car shows then you ever saw of the previous 2 generations. I have seen a M3 BMW that had the whole front end CF. It was how, and I don't like BMW's.

You are going to see more TL's that are fixed up as time goes on, if you don't care for it, so be it, but remeber that there are other people out there that do. So leave your TL stock and let these "young kids" do there thing. I want a CF hood and would love a CF trunk hood as well. My car is black so it would blend in more.

If interested in getting something like this started, you will need to contact MichaelBenz, and let him know you are interested in it. Here is a pic of what he did for the engine cover.

I would like the CF lip to go over the A-spec lips bottom where it flares out. Making it maybe an inch lower. Can anyone photoshop this on a SSM with A-spec?
Like this.......

Pretty much. Just take that off. They should be able to take the mold from a civic one, cut it in half and make the width adjustments, then match the corners up from a mold from the a spec. I sounds and looks easier in my head but I've never worked with CF or any fiber at all. I've done plaster for sculptures and figure its not that much different as far as combining the two.

Like this.......
I don't see how that would work because of its flare. It seems like it would look too stacked...could you elaborate a little more?

No need, that's what ACCURATEin's car looks like, although his car is WDP...look at the early pics of his car in his thread.

EDIT: For some reason, I figured I'd better do this. https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ighlight=volks

I guess it would be like an overlay on the existing A-spec lip. Not really an addition, but something that fits on over it.

On his it hangs below the A-spec lip. I would rather it go over the lip and not looked stacked, but blended in.....I think that would be possible

And hang an inch lower? So a lip that attaches to the ASPEC lip (by double sided tape, say) but then extends an inch below the bottom of the ASPEC lip?

That sounds right....just to give it a little lower profile without taking away the lines of the A-spec lip. U know?

not my cup of tea...

This is taken from wikipedia...

..."Ricing" (a term usually not used by the modifier himself) a vehicle is meant to emulate the aesthetic work of independent automotive car tuning companies who modify more than just appearance, and to give an appearance of greater ability than the car actually has...

They might be popular in the racing world, but CF lips do jack squat for day to day driving. Unless you drive your car so fast that you need additional downforce to keep the car from airborne, CF lip is just another cosmetic tack-on item.

And in my book that's rice.

But don't let me or anyone stop you... it's your car.. do whatever you want with it!

But no one said it was for anything other than aesthetic reasons.........

Its amazing, today reading through numerous threads I have heard 5 different definitions of rice.......but what it all comes down to is, if its your car and you like it who cares
