Carbon Fiber Hood
Carbon Fiber Hood
Saw this on eBay today. Thought it was something to look at:

Whats that ring sticking out of the front bumper?

Looks nice but I dont think it goes well with RRP. I would probably steer clear of it, I would like this car to still look somewhat professional. The only way I would consider it was if it had the chrome back on the front. Still looks a little ricey for me.
I dont like how they have the end of it by the grill...
Anyway, Anyone ever thought to get a CF hood and have it painted to match the car? I was looking into getting one to lighten the car but having it painted same color to match.

The TL did rate low as far as saftey. If I remember it had 4 out of 5's in some spots...
oh well, just a thought.

I was meaning that 4 out of 5 is already bad, most cars now have 5 out of 5 and advertise it... Like honda with the accord and all... They always show its such a safe car. Then you look at the upgrade to it, the TL, and its less safe, LOL
oh well...
you really have to think about the weight balance as well.. if you take weight from the rear, then the weight balance is even more off. no thanks.
it's a safety hazard to use a CF hood, unless the skeleton is of superb strength, because it will not absorb the energy in a frontal crash. the energy will go to different parts instead, and those parts may not have been engineered to absorb the extra energy/impact. i'd rather spend my money some suspension mod than shave a little weight... better to have a better handling car than shaving .05 seconds off my 1/4 mile time. but that's just me.
