Car windshield sunshades??
Car windshield sunshades??
i have a acura tl 2006 and have tried the one that most people get at Walmart or the cheap shades and I've tried this on my front window and none of them seem to fit are there specific ones I need to get?
I bought one from Tim Poliniak. It was custom designed to fit the windshield perfectly and it worked great. It was thick enough to effectively block out the sun and it was high quality, too.
Like you, I also tried the generic type. It was junk, at least the one I bought.
Give Tim a call.

That's the place. Cheap and works great. I have had mine since I bought the car 5 yrs ago.

i like the fact that the heatshield is less expensive and covers more of the windshield. even the slightest ray of light can heat something up in the car pretty hot so i opted for the one that covers most of the windshield.
plus if i bought the covercraft, i don't think i would be able to cut out a section for my valentine. im not sure what the material for the covercraft is, but i would just feel bad cuttin up a $50 sunshade
sorry, no outside picture. i paid about $35 shipped from amazon. i think i had a $10 amazon gift card at the time and really paid just $25

I hate the fold-up or roll-up kind. Had one in my CRX. Way to big to store while driving. Cheapo two-piece walmart twist-up type for me. Doesn't fit perfect, but gets the job done. Even in the insane Vegas sun. Summer thru winter, I use it every time my car is parked outside.
I have a grey screen from Brookstone. I think my mother and father gave it to me 15 or 20 years ago. It's designed for use both inside the car as a sunshade and on the outside of the windshield during the winter to keep ice and snow off the glass so you don't have to scrape (and it works very well for that purpose, too). I hardly ever use it on the TL because we park that in our garage, but we use the screen all the time on our RX-7 (solely as a sunshade, as the car gets covered during the winter) or on our RSX (in which case we do sometimes use it on the outside). I've used it on the TL's outside glass on ski trips and it works very well for that purpose.
For a trip to Florida this past summer I got an el cheapo silver sunshade at Advance Auto Parts. It works fine when it's in place, but I concur with the other folks that getting the thing in place is a pain because you can feel that it's cheap and it kind of flops around as you try to put it up. I like the Brookstore screen a lot better because it's a stiffer design, but it's also a smaller screen, really too small to use inside the TL. The el cheapo screen is now in the RSX because it's fairly big and the el cheapo one is in the RX-7's trunk.
I did a Google search looking for the Brookstone product I have and it appears the current design is a bit different from mine, so I can't really comment on the current one. But the old one was a very good product and it was quite durable, as indicated by my still having and using mine after some 15 to 20 years.

Had it for 7.5 years now, still good as new. Fits great. Very quick and easy to deploy and remove. Yes, it is just a bit cumbersome....
I don't know if it's the same site TL Trooper is talking about, but I recently ordered from autoshepherd.com
I ordered the shade, storage bag and a filler for about $47 shipped after coupon code. So basically, the shade came out to like $40. I forget what the code was, but it took %10 off. I'll have to do some searching to find it again.
