to all my tl's in CT.... how much do you guys pay for car taxes ? I just got mine in the mail today. 911.93, that is just outrageous, i have a mill rate of 68.34.

 

^^Do something about it. Vote the idiots out of office who instituted those taxes upon their citizens.

I think that is similar to a car registration fee? You guys also pay more if you own a second car as well?

You can always move on down to NY but then your insurance rates will go up.

 

That's crazy! I mean we have a one time sales tax........but a tax like that on your car every year! That would be hard to afford for some.

 

Holy Sh*t. I have an 04 and my taxes are not nearly that high...OMG...what town do you live in? I need to know so I never move there!! My mill rate is like 28 or 29.XX

 

Dude holy !! Thats really high! Here in Northern VA mines about 350 a year!

Here in Illinois, I only pay $78/year for each car.

 

Im guessing you live in hartford....last time i checked they were the only town in ct with a mill rate above 50, but 68 is just ridiculous. Mine is 26 and my car is worth a little less than yours so I pay less than a third of what you do.

 

Nice to know what I will be paying this year. I picked up my TL in the middle of the year last year so they prorated my taxes. All the money they get from us and the state is still in the red. I can't figure that out.

WOW...that is crazy. Do you also pay state income tax in CT? I remember a yearly exise tax on the value of the car when I lived in WA, but there was no state income tax. I now live in FL and registration runs about $50 a year and NO state income tax.

 

yea ct va and a few other states have excise taxes... shits a joke.... u buy the car and they hit u with small tax then they rape u later in the year for more taxes because the car exists

 

WOW, you guys seriously need to move to a more conservative state. I live in PA and yea we pay sales tax when we buy a car, but thats it. I just pay $35 per car per year for a TL and a 350z. I couldn't even tell you what "mill rate" means.
